Dealer offered to buy my truck...

The dealer offered to overpay me for my truck. I turned down the offer because if I had sold it, i'd just buy another one of the same exact model. I love this damn truck, you can't have it! Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Wouldn't you end up with more money if you sold it for big $$$ and bought another one??

Everytime I went for my free oil changes they would send someone out and try to get me to trade up. Never got far enough to discuss price but that’s what they do. If they see you have equity they will be all over you.

 

Was it one of those letters from the dealer things, or them trying to convince you to do a trade-in?

Idk?? I traded up from a 13 to a 17 and got a check a month later for being overpaid. But I had equity in mine.

 

They always ask me if I want to trade mine in...my answer is always, “Sure. Trade you straight across for a brand new TRD Pro 4Runner.”

I thought the dealer "overpaid" for my truck when I traded it in, but that doesn't mean I made money lol.
