im sure this question has been asked 1000 times but...

    OE tire size for my 95 4wd is 225 75 r15.

The P.O. put on 30.5x10.5r15. Same overall dimensions as a new trd truck with 265x70r16.

A guy has some take offs for sale locally.

Will a 2016 trd 16” wheel work on my 1995 truck?

The TRD wheels have 265/70 tires on them already, correct?
Then yep you can for sure run them, no spacers, no fuss.

    Sweet.

Hijacking my own thread - does anyone know what speedo gear I would need to correct for the diameter difference vs oe tire size?

They'll fit, but will be about 3/4" closer to the suspension. I think the backspace on those is 5.25" and on the first gens is 4.5".

Looks a little funny with the wheels tucked under the fenders more in my opinion. Not a problem with stock tires, but you'll need spacers if you run a wider tire on that rim. I have '05+ steel wheels with 285/75-16s and I had to run a 1.25" spacer just to keep the front wheels from rubbing on the spindles.

Read the post. Not the poll. Lots of valuable information for you in there.

Is it really worth the trouble for a 22 year old vehicle? You could use this and bust out your slide rule: Is it going to help you resell the vehicle with low miles or not get speeding tickets? o_O

I need new tires, and it’s maybe an extra $100 to buy 2017 takeoffs and bolt them on vs buying and mounting new tires in the stock rims.

Also this is my DD and it will make me happy to have nice new wheels.

Get them on and if you want them not so tucked in add spacers after the fact.

And quite frankly that's all that matters !!
I love it when a simple question is asked, like the one asked here by the OP. And you get the snarky remarks about why would you do this or that. Because it makes him "happy"! Answer the question and move on.

Lol sorry I meant why do you want to get the speedo gear? A lot of trucks on here are on 2" different tires from stock - it's seems like a lot of work and those were the only two reasons I could possibly come up with, besides just wanting the speedo accurate. I get the new wheel deal - I love putting stock take off parts on my 2nd gen! No worries

    ah!!

Well - it's just the speedo issue, I'd like to have it accurate - both for reading speed, and for mileage on the odo.

so easy to misunderstand things typed on the internet!!!!

I'm not sure if this will work for a 1st gen, I've never looked into it. But have you checked out the Hypertech Speedometer calibrator?

Mine is an '02, so I'm not sure what differences there are in clearance, but I have the stock wheels/tires (265/70/16) TRD wheels off a 2016 or 2017 (can't recall) tacoma. No rubbing.
