I asked the same question 2 year ago. I've had mine off for quite sometime. It's not super noticeable.

I didn't want to have it get ripped off when out wheeling. That was also when I didn't have my belly skid.

I gotcha. I noticed it when I was laying on the ground thinking about how I want to design the next MattFab skid plates. haha

If you're going to be building a belly skid, just embrace that it's going to be heavy, and do use 1/4" plate. It should never bend or break under any circumstance.

I was planning on 1/4 since it's pretty much totally flat. I don't care about weight anymore, haha

Woo woooo got some tires to get me through the rest of college.

265/70/17 BFG KO2s wrapped around 4Runner Trail edition wheels. The tires have 36k miles on them and look incredible. My Cooper ATPs have less than that and are toast.

This isn't part of the Tacoma build, but I guess it's kind of a Cessna build.

Got the valve train, intake tubes, and oil return lines installed and am now at a stopping point until I can get a longer push rod. I guess we can actually start the annual inspection while we wait on that! This has been a super fun project. It'll be even cooler once it runs :D

Time for some maintenance! I also mocked up what my new-to-me wheels and tires are going to look like once I get them mounted. Won't happen until the winter though.

Oil change and power steering flush today. Was about to start the transmission flush and realized I forgot to pick up a new crush washer for the drain bolt so that will wait until next weekend.

If anyone wants to see my photos from my semester in Australia, here is the link to my Facebook album. I think you should be able to view them even if you don't have an account.

Don't worry, I'm still alive. Here's a short video of some footage I combined from multiple flights over the past year or so. I can't wait to get back to the states and get back in the air!
