Installation of my new grill went very well. Going to leave the lettering black for now. I’m very pleased. A BIG THANKS goes out to everyone @ VANKulture

Installed, used a 5/64" drill bit to drill the premarked holes for the letter pegs to fit into. Hollowed out the O's by drilling multiple holes in the center and filing the rest. Added the paint matched decals on top of the letters as well (magnetic gray). The metal clips hold the letters in place pretty well. Very happy with the results :) Looks very close to OEM.

I'm pretty happy with the replica TRD Faux grill, I was able to drill the holes for the letters, I will be filling down the center of the letter "O"s tonight.

That looks very nice! I have a quicksand as well. Did you use something on the grill to give it that matte shine?

I was able to smooth out the center of the letter "O"'s, test fit the letters, place the metal tabs behind the letters and put some epoxy for a little reinforcement.

Sorry for the late response: No sir I did not use anything else on my new grill. I washed my truck before I install the new grill. Also around the radiator area as well. And just wiped everything down with a damp microfiber towel

May I ask for some more details on that additional JBL tweeter you've added in the above pic. It looks really cool , and a smart place to install it. Also, can't even tell the difference of that grill from OEM. Thanks!

@bacon_st that pic was added by accident, should of been on the "Audio/Video"
those are the JBL GTO19T 0.75-Inch Component Tweeter, I just drilled the mounting hole for the tweeter on the sail panel and tapped the speaker wires on the door 6x9 speaker.
I had to shave off some plastic off the back of the tweeter mounts so it will sit flush against door

Okay, my letters arrived on Friday......and the grill arrived on Saturday.......one day apart. They were packaged well and arrived safe. I was very pleased with the quality and appearance of both the letters and the grill!
    20171015_152416_resized_zpsankqtcgz_81b29174ff89db5e08fb2b75bb5997bce78705db.jpg
First thing I did was use my dremel and take the center of the O's out........I did not bother with the center of the A.
    20171015_152438_resized_zps3rov0xlp_0a49a2c992b830f7c3b12123304e7053a3d11bab.jpg
Then I drilled the holes in the grill at the dimples.......with a 5/64 drill bit. This was the perfect size. I then fitted each of the letters in place and they fit perfect as well. .........I did momentarily freak out when I tried to place the wrong O in wrong spot....LOL.... the O's have different posts on the rear and are designed to be placed to allow for the rear supports........AM I the only one who freaked on this detail for a couple seconds.......LOL
    20171015_153024_resized_zpsuj8grxlv_a1d5b3fc80201c77dd7c93de968247dedafd01bd.jpg

After that used a pair of needle nose pliers to attach the metal clips on the rear. Everything fit great and I had no complaints.
    20171015_153940_resized_zpsaodomxbi_b60050ea0d7ad35222df9a56c7a118ac391a936a.jpg

Then I used some JB Weld Epoxy an dropped some down on top of the posts over the clips (forgot to photograph this part...lol) just to secure the letters to the grill. Though, this part was prob not necessary.

I took my original chrome grill off and put my new one on.........and I think it looks great!

I did pick up some of the vinyl letters in Quicksand Tan to go over the letters, but thought I would keep it completely blacked out for a while.
I am glad I purchased this grill..........I hope it holds up the bugs it is bound to get hit with............LOL

I remember there being talk of "TACOMA" lettering. Did this not pan out or not have enough interested?
