Is this normal on 3rd gen?

Lately I can hear my torque converter or transmission pump whine on all gears, even in park. Only happen when I step on the gas pedal. Its not super loud but noticeable ecspecially cruising on hills.

Ome 888 Lift, 285/70/17 and Ovtune. 10k on the truck and the whine just started.

You’re back? Your name is still strike through.

Curious about this OP, running similar mods. I had some really poor torque converter behavior running a beta version of 1.02C. Have heard a few weird noises lately but nothing too repeatable. High frequency when on the throttle?

Did you have the whine before you put your lift on?

Yikes indeed. How the ECU flash affects other components of the drive train is uncharted territory.
I don't know if you could give it to dealership to claim warranty on that one.
My dealership refused to fix a gap in one of my panels just because I've added a switch to a different panel.

Wait, did he delete his account, and then got it back again? I didn't even know you could just up and leave TW @smitty99 ? Or was it the ban hammer?

Are you sure the transmission is full of fluid ? Torque converters do " NOT " normally whine . Possibly your transmission pump or the pressure regulator .
How about a video to help out your explanation

Researching yesterday and you're correct! Symptoms seems to be the transmission pump. Fluid was checked and filled at 5k. Video will be up later.

No. I'm sure the lift has nothing to with it. The whine is coming directly from the tranny where it mount onto the engine.

Short video of the whinning noise. I had it on ECT mode to keep the rpm higher so the whine is more audiable. Its louder in person.

Note: This was never heard of until 10k

Is it the constant "whirring" noise I'm hearing??

First thing I would be doing is " checking the trans fluid level "and running a pressure guage on the transmission .
A computer scan, its a completely computer controlled trans
Next, run the engine with the serpentine belt removed for diagnostic purposes

All the shift points feel normal ? The video is a little difficult to hear the sound to be able to pick out the problem .
If you can hear the noise in park , its not a lift kit issue unless something is rubbing up against the drive line ever since the lift causing the sound of the transmission to be somewhat amplified . Have seen this many times

Was your fluid actually physically checked? Most dealers will not do that unless you leave it over nite and cough up $130.00US or so. They just hook up their computer and say it's fine...CUZ... they cannot apparently check it with that..!

I know for certain its not the serpentine belt and lift kit. The noise is coming from the tranny where the torque converter is located. Not sure where the tranny pump is at but at this point I'm speculating its the pump. I have yet take it to the shop because I do not want to have a piece of garbage rental... My hunting season is still going on and will need a 4wd.

My dealership checked mine. I had to let it sit for several hours to let it cool down. And they didn't charge me anything.
