My 50lb Shepherd mix goes just about everywhere with me, every day. She always rides shotgun in the truck.

Would it be best to have the passenger airbag on or off for her? For quick rides around town we don't use a seatbelt, but for long drives or highway drives I buckle her in via her harness and a climbing carabiner tethered to the seatbelt.

think of the dog as a small child. too much force from the airbag can cause damage they are not prepared for.

    I'd say keep it off.

    Ask your vet?

I am thinking OFF because airbags are designed for humans and not canines.

Hmmm. Seatbelts have been around for over 60 years, and most accidents occur within 5 miles of home. What's your excuse for not wearing them on your "quick rides"? (Just thinking out aloud, don't really care...)
