I'm building piles at work for the firefighters to burn either this winter or next winter...it's an on-going thing. I do shore maintenance removing the excess vegetation on a few areas. I usually lay it all on the banks for a week or so so it'll dry out and the dirt will fall out better, but last year I had to load it directly into the truck. Now this year I'm having to sort it with the grapples and sift as much of it out as I can. The sorted pile now is around 12' tall by 20' by about 40' so far and still have more to go. It should go up pretty good when they hit it with the drip torches.

Glad it's gone. Still have all the old piled up cedar that's compacted together in over 12 years to deal with.

That should take care of any small rodent populations that's taken up residency in it. It doesn't take long in the desert for the rodents to move in...usually the local snake population moves in shortly after they do. When the piles are lit I try to either be out of the area or up in a vehicle or piece of equipment and off the ground...never know what's going to be running out of those piles.

    Nice!
Saw only one coyote on my way out. Showers, warm and humid, not my kind of weather, but at least I got out.
Temps dropping next week ,so it will only get better.
And when the leaves drop, I'll have 200 yard visibility from that stand.

Hickory nuts dropping sound like a meteor shower, lol.
