This seems pretty cool. Just read an article about it.

You can power LED lights and even charge your phone by burning wood (smokeless)!

Anyone seen these or used one? I have JetBoil which is great but this seems pretty cool.

Been out for at least 3 years.

Slow to charge, gimmicky, but an interesting concept.

    Gadget.

Technology isn't new. It converts heat to electricity. :)

Inside Its powered by a simple peltier cooler, when you apply electricity it cools. You would find these in the el-cheapo 12v coolers... you know like the $30-$100 numbers. When you apply heat it generates electricity. I bought one when they were first crowed sourcing funding for their first model. It is shit as a phone charger, it will get the job done but you will burn a ton of fuel to fully charge a modern phone.

As far as a emergency stove I LOVE it. Not as fast as a jet boil but will run on any solid mass you find. I was stuck in texas once without fuel for my pocket rocket; without this baby I would have been screwed. Now I keep it in my EDC kit in my taco. I don't use it everyday or for every situation but it I trust that I will get me out of a jam if needed.

This is my normal camp stove. I really like it. I don't really use the charging portion, I just think it's a great stove.

I have one. The charging USB port doesn't charge very quickly but I guess it might give you enough juice during cooking to keep it for emergency. If you're a heavy user then this will never keep you charged.
The stove itself is pretty decent. I also got the kettle that sits perfectly on top, it boils water very quickly.
It's probably not for everyone but it definitely does the job.
