Yes you do have to leave the doors off the bed pockets. After removing the top of the ammo can in the DECKED system you can get to these with limited access. They are not completely useless but you do loose some of their functionality. With that being said the ammo cans make up for them more than enough

 

Thanks @Sandytaco14 so here is the deal with the payload....

We have rated the product at 2000lb gross payload distributed across the surface of the deck. This is conservative, because we know that especially in full-size trucks, limits are for sissies. That said, the thing that will cause an issue is a heavy load with concentrated load points. Our favorite example is a welder. A big welder might only weigh 500 pounds but it sits on four casters or pointy feet typically. Putting that heavy of a load on our product can cause the deck to puncture or crack, so we recommend something like a 3/4" sheet of cdx plywood or a heavy rubber mat or something similar to distribute that load. So anytime, as a rule of thumb, you have a heavy object with concentrated load points, put something under it.

A motorcycle is not an issue. I've driven all over with my moto on my system and at 200lbs or so it's not enough and the tires are big enough that while you might see some flex in the HDPE it's not going to cause it to crack. I suppose if you cranked down ratchet tie downs to the point of bottoming out your fork, it's possible. But then your fork seals would be cooked as well. I would not dissuade you from putting something under your tires to be safe, but it should not present an issue.

Okay Andrew and @TheDECKEDGuy. How hard would it be to mount a tilting fridge slide with a 75qt fridge on it to the top of one of these bad boys. After seeing Androlle's in person im seriously starting to consider one.

This or the large one. Not sure which one ill need yet.

 

I don't think you'll have a problem at all mounting that. You will just have to make sure you seal the holes well so that no water gets in the drawers.

No they are not.

i don’t have any options other than drawer dividers. I consider them absolutely vital. The decked sealed box was a very cool addition as well.

Hey Does the D-Box fit into both draws?

 

Don't mean to answer out of turn but the D boxes only fit in the large drawer. I spoke to Decked late last year and they are working on a smaller D box for the other side.

 

As a longer term update to the thread I am thoroughly enjoying the decked system. It has eliminated all of the clutter when hunting, fishing, and camping.

With the rci bedrack and the cvt tent there is enough space for large waters and a cooler in between amongst other camping items. I believe the decked system will really shine when I invest in a camper shell. I believe that will be the perfect amount of height and waterproof on top storage. All in all the decked system has made all the difference when going on day or extended trips.

With hunting it’s super easy to pop the tent and have all of my gear in the drawers. I hunt at longer ranges so my weapon of choice doesn’t fit in the drawers but that’s okay. The backseat of the truck it goes


And finally for fishing(which is where I find this to help me the most.
I’m an avid kayak fisherman and the drawers are just amazing for holding tackle and other fishing gear. As anyone will know that kayak fishes longer trips you can’t store all of the tackle and gear inside the yak like you can with a bass boat so this has proven invaluable to me. I will soon be rigging up a way to use the Yakima bed extender and bar to hold the kayaks (as done by another member) and I will update the thread with those pictures.

I saw one post where you said the drawers extend 10” past the tailgate.. is this a short bed model or long bed?

I have a long bed and I’m curious how much extension I’d get with the drawers open. If they only open like halfway I could see stuff getting lost at the front of the drawers.
