It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
swingarm in the front? thats a bold strategy

    450mx ~260lbs and 67hp
    690e ~310 and 69ish
    1200s ~ 450-500 and 100ish

the less weight your fighting is easier on the body. the larger bikes will definitely do the cruising down the highway better but im really happy with how the 690 cruises and still doesnt weigh near as much

    • Racetech internals in the front forks
    • Ohlins rear shock
    • GPR v4 steering stabilizer
    • Graves velocity stacks
    • Power Commander V
    • full dyno tune
    • cat delete, custom midpipe
    • ss gp style exhaust
    • ss brake lines
    • chopped subframe, custom underseat (my buddy does great tig work)
    • speedo relocated to the airbox cover
    • 3d printed tail in carbon fiber/palstic filament, designed and printed at home
    • 3d printed intake shrouds, wrapped in 2 layers of carbon fiber
    • carbon frame protectors, fenders
    • custom headlight, brackets
    • aluminum axle sliders, delrin frame sliders
    • diamond tuck leather seat w/ memory foam

The distinctive V4 grumble is one of the main reasons why I decided to buy an ape lol. Took me a while to make a decision between this or the S1000RR

    1992 Bimota YB8

Only 252 produced, still trying to figure out exact numbers but I was told only 6 imported to U.S.

Popped up on craigslist 1 minute from my house. actually only 1900 miles, showroom condition.

    Stickered for $23,000 in 1992DSC_1591.jpg

I did... I thought It was a great deal bought it figuring I could always sell it down the road, and simply for the fact that I had only seen one for sale before and it wasn't nearly as nice, think it ended up selling for 13k$.

Interesting little graphic there, wonder where they get there numbers.

I don't believe those numbers take into consideration they rarity of the bike. It was just a quick search I did but here are a couple of links...

Yeah, Its hard to say what the exact "value" is as that will change per individual... There are soo many little details that can add up quick, there have been many of these imported after production, and for whatever reason those are less desirable (maybe titling issues in some states?) than the ones that were originally imported here for sale. From what I understand the early bimotas with the jap engines are really preferred to have carbs and not fuel injection as the fuel injection was apparently to be sub-par. Also this one has a vin ending in 003, I have a feeling that maybe the first handful were imported and thats why this vin is so low, which could also add value.. but honestly I just don't know enough about these bikes to say one way or the other. Thats when the people who have been dealing in the bimotas for decades will really be able to determine what it is worth.

I've been riding and buying/selling motorcycles for about 10 years (still a rookie compared to many) and I still learn so much every day. I actually build custom motorcycles and restore classics for a living, so when I see something like this, that I haven't seen in person before I usually try to throw a number at the seller.

It really is amazing... it takes the saying of "like its on rails" to a new level for me. Speed isn't really comparable to a modern litre bike but the handling in the turns makes up for it. 100% planted
