    Factor 55 flatlink install

I decided to go with Factor 55's flatlink instead of their splicer. I ended up wanting something more low profile since the Demello bumper's fairlead is low and angled downward. The thing I do like about the splicer though is it's loop's diameter is larger, which is better for the rope, and is contained within the shell of the link which basically eliminates a link.

This is my first splice btw. It was much easier than I first thought it would be.

Anyone can do this. What's nice about it, is, if a rope breaks in the wild, and you have your fid with you, or even a screwdriver or pen, you can mend the line.

I followed the tapering instructions from this video:

and the brummel lock splice from this video:

Very nice! I just ordered Icon Stage 2 setup for my wife's 4Runner. She also has a 2015 Limited. I was wondering how much of a pain/difficulty removing the XREAS system was? And did you do the Icon install yourself? Because I plan to with some minimal help from the wife. Thanks

Oh sorry, haven't been on here for a while. Removing the XREAS was a breeze. It comes off in pieces. Brackets are easy to remove. Just work your way around the truck as you remove the stock shocks/struts.

UPDATE: I said goodbye to mosquitoes, chiggers, and the alligator infested waterways of Florida and moved cross country to Pahrump NV.

I'm now literally smack dab in the middle of dirt heaven. Facing my house is Mt Charleston. I can see the entrance to Wheeler Pass from my porch. Behind my house about 1 mile down the road is open BLM recreation land, and behind that about an hour away is Death Valley. There's tons more. I've been out every weekend exploring nearby ghost towns and mines, and almost every day I hit the recreation land down the road. Needless to say, I love it here! More importantly, the wife and the kids love it too.

I also picked up an 05 Tundie 4x4 built by DMZ. It rides amazing over the fast desert trails around here.
I usually go do a quick run up to the top of some nearby hills to watch the sunset, look for lizards and shit, then head back home.
