Good to hear about the sizing. Going to synthetic from down was a game changer for me, especially on long trips / cold wet weather. I think you'll like the Torrid for the reasons you mention.

Ya, it looks very similar to mine, just with slightly tougher Dyneema and a different hip belt setup. Mine carries great as long as I keep my base weight around 9lbs. But Since I dont keep a sitpad or anything on the exterior, I just have to pack carefully and make sure my quilt is up against my back (I never use compression sacks). It usually conforms and feels good after 5 minutes or so. Make sure you test that its actually 100% waterproof before relying on it in a rainstorm. Mine was suppose to be but leaked through on several seams. Not a big deal, just tape the interior of the seams with some cuben tape.

As a "just in case", I keep my down quilt in a CF roll-top dry bag and my clothes bag is Zpacks' medium-plus pillow bag (another roll-top dry bag with the fleece stitched in on one of the inside sides). My electronics go in a CF stuff sack as well. Keeps my absolute necessities dry. But, I inspected the inside of the Nero very closely and it's fully tape and laminate sealed. I should test it by filling it with water when empty and seeing how long it holds water though.

In my Arc Haul, I use the Zpacks CF pack liner because I don't use a stuff sack for my quilt. In the Nero, the roll-top dry bag keeps my quilt in a shape that doesn't cram the side pockets and allows me to carry it horizontally.

Just received my mattress and sea to summit pump in the mail. Really like how light and compact it packs.

My question is. I know you're not suppose to use lungs to blow it up. My sea to summit requires 1 breath each time I use it to pump. Takes me 2 breathes to get it to fully inflated.

Does the big Agnes pump that you use require any breathing into? Or does it just fill up with air on its own?

Edit. Nvm. Just saw more bout the sea to summit bag. Even though I use a breath to fill the pump it still pushes in dry air.

Looks like Klymit has released an inflation bag for their sleeping pads. Two kinds for the two different types of valves. I made a video about inflating the pads with a plastic trash bag and rubberband. Sometimes the rubber bands break. I'll probably end up buying one of these but for the time being my system is working well.

I had a BA bag with a sleeve for a pad but returned it. For car/truck camping I have two Teton Sports zero degree bags. But you know how bag ratings go. The bags are great but without a top quilt/blanket they aren't too comfortable around 32 degrees even with long underwear and wool socks. With the top blanket though they are great.

I use a Klymit Insulated Static V-luxe. Great pad. Just purchased a second one today off their ebay store. They list them at $120 but my offer of $65 was accepted. Wish I had made a lower initial offer. Now I have two of these pads which will fit perfectly in my pop-up. Here are some comparison pics of the V-luxe vs. the Static V.

Before the fire, We both *had* BA pads. The Mr *had* a 40* BA bag too... not sure if we’ll replace them since we love our hammocks more and have UQs/TQs for them.

Just came across the company. https://www.cotopaxi.com/

    Has anyone used Cotopaxi?

Looks like some really nice gear, may look at getting one of the gear bags or day packs to carry clothes in...

Also used in Cairn boxes by the looks of it.

I used to camp in Upper Pines several times a year, especially in the Winter. Of course, back in those days, there weren't reservations.

Site #? It's likely the only campground that will be open, they start shutting the others down soon...

No idea what the site number is. My sister booked it to take our parents. I'm just hoping that they wont be too cold at night.
