Not correlated. It does extend the spindle length because it moves the joint up an inch, but that wouldn’t change ride height

Well my front sits alot lower haha I see it and my headlights are lower, both of them. That's the only thing we did today was swap the uppers.

The only thing uppers do are hold the spindle.
Think about the forces transfered. Starting at the coilover that connects the frame to the suspension, which transfers forces to the Lower Control Arm, which then connects to the Lower Ball Joint, which then is transferred into the wheel. The only thing the upper does is hold the spindle straight

2000 4runner 4x4 with a 5speed. Got the truck with a blower, but a blown motor. We used a jdm motor importer over in dallas to get a low mile 5vzfe and did a lot of URD upgrades along with their stage 2 clutch and headers. Possibly gonna be getting full LT and glass fenders before long.....or might be up for sale lol.

I completely understand how it all works. Which is why we were confused. But the truck sits lower in the front and I don't know why. I highly doubt an alignment will correct the height change

Given 1-2 weeks to go wheeling/exploring/camping in December, where would you go?

Looking into planning my next trip, winter weather/temps is the biggest limiting factor though.

Hows the weather in Death Valley that time of year? I know Moab can get pretty cold at night during the winter. I'm cool with driving long distances, it's worth it for the scenery, nothing compares on the east coast.

Those daytime temps sound great. I want to try and bring my girlfriend since she couldn't go to Moab or Colorado with me this year, but I don't want to ruin her experience with freezing to death every night. I'll tough out the cold, but I know she doesn't like it at all...

Any thoughts on some of the areas further south in California, like Joshua Tree or Mojave?

I even debated Baja, but I've never been to Mexico, don't speak any Spanish, and would need to find someone to go along with me most likely, not sure I want to go down there with only one vehicle.

I figured it'd be about the same. I might try and do the trip in Southern California and spend a couple days in each of the areas. I've got a couple sleeping bags rated to 20*. We'd be sleeping in the 4Runner so we'd be off the ground too.

My next trip is to Mexico. Just a little nervous on some of the details of it...

Want to go down the west coast for some surf during a good swell. Only thing is, I’ll be going through some less than great places with cartels and all so my parents aren’t too hyped on it.

I might look into some sort of electric heater too. Something battery powered that I could charge up during the day maybe.

What I've read about Baja is you'll be ok, as long as you aren't stupid and ignorant. Not sure about the mainland though.

    Death Valley is amazing.
Be sure to check out Alabama hills in lone pine and great place to camp as well. Also saline springs is amazing like the best part of Death Valley if you can get over naked people and enjoy it.

What'd you think of your yukon zip locker when you ran it?

What’s your guys opinion? I have a set of used King’s and TC UCA’s that I’m rebuilding for the Tundra. It’s mainly my DD but plan on camping with it more next year and be “Trail” ready if I’m following some guys out to a more remote spot. Won’t be a crawler or any actual trails. Basically a ride upgrade and get some caster back.

But I’m thinking of trying to sell that set up and my 99 4runner to fund a 1st gen 4runner. Really want one and can’t find any motivation to spend money on the 99 as it’s not what I really want. Would be fine for wheeling but I don’t really care to drive it and going to need more maintenance to feel comfortable taking on long trips. Rather dump any money into a 1st gen. Only issue is I worry I won’t end up using the money from the suspension on a 1st gen as it will take a while to find the right one.

1st gen. It’s what you want and have always wanted as your toy. End of story
