I will be having mine done Monday morning. Not much danger of rust down here, but mine are squeaking so bad I figure it can't hurt.

I had the Harsh ride tsb done too ages ago. I've received at least 4 recall letter now. I am very hesitant to do the recall and end up with the non tsb replacement.

Honestly if you have the TSB done from 3 leaf to 4 leaf and it's good condition, I would just keep your TSB one.

I had the TSB springs put in years ago and was happy with them. Had the correct recall springs put in this year; they are crap! Went with Sumo springs and now back to level towing.

Hmmm. Toyota told me last year that all three leafs were to be replaced regardless of clips. I dunno. Mine were replaced with 4 leafs and six clips. Happy so far.

This is what I am affraid of happening to me. Some gets good results some do not. I have a snogtop shell on my bed and the tsb spring seems to keep my rear in good shape.

Don't bother with this recall. Check your current tsb's and if you don't see anything wrong, your fine. I wish I kept mine lol

Try a can of Fluid Film on your Springs. It will keep them from rusting and lube the spring plates.

I got my new recall springs this morning, no difference in the height or ride that I notice, however the squeaking is completely gone (for now).

    So I bought a used 11 in December 16.
Between the time I looked at it the first time and when I ended up buying it the BMW dealer sent over to Toyota to get the recalls redone. One of those recalls was the leaf springs.

I don't remember what the original leaf springs felt like, but these new springs suck hard. Just changing the spare tire out today I could watch the truck go up an inch without the tire weight.

With my camper shell on there the springs are almost flat. When we loaded the truck for a week long camping trip the springs had a serious frown to them. Like three year old throwing a tantrum sized frown.

    So I have some questions.
Are everyone's replacement leaf packs doing this?
Is there anything I can get Toyota to do about it?
I've even paid for CAT scale weight tickets to prove what ever I might have to prove.
If they decide I am screwed and won't do anything what are my options for buying after market fixes, without buying all new springs?

I am not sold on the air bag theory because of constantly having to monitor air pressure. As well as living in Vegas everything not metal tends to die shortly after purchase.

I keep hearing something about adding a leaf spring helper, but I not sure it is has enough lift to give the springs what it need.

A few mods here and there and counting....
I got the recall springs done about three months ago and can confirmed it sits a bit lower once it settled. Went on a camping trip a while back, loaded the rear and it sagged. Gonna remedy this with wheelers 2in AAL once i install the lift. I rarely haul but the recall leaf pack is disappointing.

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I'm still debating whether or not to proceed with this recall.

I had the harsh ride TSB done like 10 years ago and got the 4 leaf pack out of it. It's still performing great with the Icon 3 AAL that I installed like 8 years ago.

Based on the stories here of people with the TSB 4 leaf pack getting recall done and incorrectly getting the 3 leaf pack for the recall and with my Icon AAL which complicates things, should I still go for the recall?

I would just browse local Craigslist or BST forum here for someone selling their stock TSB springs. It's usually not difficult to find takeoffs from people upgrading their suspension. Then you could probably put your AAL on those.

That sounds like the bureaucracy at work -- the TSB is to replace the original springs with improved 3-leaf springs (I believe). I'm wondering if their records reflect you already replaced springs once. I did the TSB from the original springs, and it was an improvement. The original springs bottomed out very easily with a shell and a modest load in back. The TSB springs improved on that. They were also designed (primarily designed) to address a corrosion problem with the original springs. If you are happy with your 4-leaf system, and if you have it regularly inspected for corrosion, I'm not sure I would mess with it, especially since you are in a part of the world where not much road salt is used.
