Hey, I’ve got a 2016 Tacoma Limited. Owned it for about three months now and noticed something strange. When I’m on the highway, going about 70mph or so, I notice this gurgling sound coming from my front driver side dash. It also only happens with the AC on and the recirc button on. Any ideas????

Yeah its air being blown by standing water. Time for a trip to your friendly and helpful dealer.

Wow that video is quite interesting! I didn't imagine any air ducts in that location, not even for the defrost.

If you put on the defost on full blast, does it spit up moisture as well?

Mine has the same sound. I have not seen any water droplets, but will look for them.

Dealer said it was an issue with the mix door. meachanic took it apart and put it back together and declared it fixed. It is most definately NOT fixed. I will look into the issue myself to see if the AC drain is slow, partially blocked or something.

So issue solved. The previous owner had the windshield replaced at the Toyota dealership. Turns out, they didn’t seal the glass all the way. So, at speeds, you’ll hear the spitting sound from air seeping in, plus moisture. Newly sealed windshield, problem fixed.
