Is. Still my favorite highway vehicle and will remain so.

But my commute could be up to 80 miles a day now round trip. Would rather rack that up in something else.

Plus like I said. Devin has a Honda insight. And snow tires help but not that much in deep stuff. And as much as I'd love to say take igor I'll take frank to work! The likely hood of frank being in one piece during the winter is..well none.

Not gonna hunt for one hard. Need a place to live first.

I see it now. Monte buys a reg cab tacoma for a DD. Drives it through the winter and then looks for another tacoma DD because he ripped the engine out for a 2jz and he wants to keep the miles low on the other 3 tacomas...

    Probably..gotta catch em all!

Can't find a regular cab anyways. One in red lodge but way too much money. Also a 2nd Gen single cab but for almost 10k..nah.

My truck has learned to just defy the laws of physics, and read a few books on rock crawling. Been kicking ass all week so far. Made it through the pickle, rusty nail, Pritchett and did behind the rocks backwards. No broken cvs or winches needed for the pickle

Snapped a cv on the first obstacle in rusty nail and took a winch. That was the only one on that trail.

One snapped cv on rocker knocker on Pritchett and took a winch there. Only winch I needed on that trail.

I took a winch at the very top going up the white knuckle bypass on behind the rocks backwards, which was a steep dirt covered z turn type of shelf line. Konsta thought it was more of a buggy line At first.

Then got fucking ROBBED on high dive doing behind the rocks backward. Made it up the challenging lower section where everyone almost flops coming down, and at the last ledge I was working on at the top the trucks AT temp light came on (happened a few times before that) and the engine temps were Throigh the roof. So I just called it and told konsta to tug the truck with a strap for the 2 feet I needed to get over the hump. so pissed.

My dinky truck on 35s hung with lifted SA rigs on tons and 40s all day and we basically all had the same number of winches and attempts on obstacles lol.

I am curious about these broken CVs. Do they all break in the same way. What fails on them?

I'm really surprised it did so well. Also glad on some of these ledges I can be locked front and rear, and smoke all 4 tires for a while, saw away and nothing breaks. It's when the wheels are climbing under cut ledges and it's all bound up (obviously) that they stress and snap.

I'm getting 5.29s, Arb in my 8.4 and a tranny cooler by next year. The overheating tranny was a big problem. It got worked ALOT.

There are some pictures, just have to wait for everyone to go through them

One sheered the shaft on the outboard side, and one blew up the bearings on the outboard side. The little balls were falling out of the boot lol

I've had that bearing component in the outside cup blow a few times, last one was this winter in some deep snow. I think thats the weakest point. The shaft sheering is second I guess, I saw Silas do a few of those

    Yes i did. Thanks though!

Finally..been trying to get you to get 5.29s forever. Will be a big improvement. Tranny cooler will also help a lot. might be time for a new radiator too.
