Are you a mils guy or an MOA guy? And are you in FFP or SFP guy? And what kind of power rangers are you wanting to get into?

Oh yeah, and I forgot. Are you looking for a Hunting style scope or a tactical style scope?

I haven't really shot enough long distance to have preferences between mils or moa. I think the SFP would be better at distances, correct? Again, don't have a preference in range powers. Just that they work well around 500-600yds but would still like to reach the working limit of the .308 round.

probably hunting. its really going to be for the range. and a slim chance of hunting duty.

Hmmm. I'm not quite sure were to start on this response. I'll start with the SFP/FFP Q! It is somewhat a personal preference. I Like FFP for 2 reasons. 1st, I don't have to know what the each lines value is @ each power of the scopes range witch you need to know with an SFP scope. 2nd, I like that I can decide how see though (disappear) or strong I want the redical hairs to be in the scope.( FFP really is the shit-IMO). As far as the MILs-MOA Q. It sound like your in the beginning/learning stages of long distance shooting, witch is great, (because we've all been there!) You've picked a great round to move forward and learn from. do lots of reading and question asking, go out to stores and try all the different choices out there in the scope world (MILS,MOA<power, ext)
A suggestion I'd give for your set up would be

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00M85OUCY/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I2DYIADYZF19PV&colid=32T9XQ34OSWRU

It is specifically designed for the 308 round.

Thanks for the response and some insight. I hear ya on your reasons why FFP. I definitely have some research to do and I am at the beginning stages of long distance.

Lol. I actually have a Nikon P223 that I got a great deal on, so I put it on my SR22 rifle. Maybe I'll stick with the FFP, MOA, so both scopes are similar.

If you your going the FFP route. this is a killer budget scope. But like anything, shop around. these scopes on Ebay are like in the $300/$400 range, and yes they come in both MILs and MOA
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ND1AHZY/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=IO4A3SDCCC7QB&colid=32T9XQ34OSWRU

I could be wrong, but I don't think your Nikon p223 scope is in FFP?????

Slow at the moment. Started looking into the ones you linked. Gotta find time to go into the store with the rifle so I can check clearance and eye relief.

Yeah, that’s definitely not an area you want to rush into. At least with the eye relief you have lots of adjustability via your scope rings. And the nice thing about a smaller Bell is you can do your height adjustment also to your scope rings.

It came with very easy directions, but you just simply slide it over were you need within the vicinity of where you would want it and Mark your spots when it’s still on

You can get it with any design on top or just plain, or you can see I got it with the American flag

And of course if you didn’t want to drill holes you could always use Velcro or two sided tape
