is there more to this story?

so the engine runs but all the electronics are screwy?

did this only start after you installed new battery? there's not much you can mess up on a battery install besides putting in backwards or accidentally shorting things out.

yes sorry i was driving home and i looked down and all these lights popped on i had to turn my lights off for the truck to have enough power to run . so i figured it was a bad battery because it had died a couple times since it started getting cold. but now it starts fine and i drove it to the store and back last night. but the windows still won't roll up and the dome lights all work but the speedo in the dash won't work either

Okay i had a similar issue with a Ford truck where all the electronics went screwy because a bad alternator started throwing wild currents and the truck started just ignoring it and not allowing windows, radio, dash cluster etc to work properly but super dumb electronics like incandescent light bulbs worked fine and engine ran as normal.

the bad alternator could have ruined your last battery and will cook this one too eventually if thats the issue. break out a voltage tester!

most auto parts houses will check out your charging system free of charge, hoping you might buy something from them but you dont have to.

Aux back up lights, Bed lights, Re-located trailer plug, Good dooby, a.k.a. jumper cable mod, Heated seats, back up camera,
Def sounds like the alternator. Check battery voltage with the truck off and running it should be higher when running somewhere around 13-14 volts.
If the voltage goes up, start turning things on to see if the voltage drops. If it does, I'd replace it
