You are absolutely correct. I have been in the auto repair business for over 40 years and I ask the dealership about the TSB's before I get there and when I get there and words like "sometimes and intermittently" always works. The techs don't want to spend time duplicating the issue. They don't get paid for it but if you address what the vehicle is doing and tell them that TSB# XXX addresses this issue they will do it, unless there is a large cost in parts involved.

Random question for a noob. Would a new truck coming off the manufacture line come with the updated software or should I request it from the dealer before taking her home?

That is a good question. One would think all the updates would be taken care of, however this is Toyota. I would make sure the tranny is full. I would have the dealer give this to you in writing and I would check it. There is a thread here on how it is done. Not hard at all to do or have a good independent shop check it. As for the update ask the dealer and again get it in writing that they did it. However you have many miles and years to get this done. If the dealer refuses to do any of this find another dealer. Most Toyota/new car dealers repair facilities are crap. Good luck.

Did they do the correct TSB update?

Looks good to me. How does it shift? You should notice a difference.

I had the latest tsb done even though the first one fixed my issues. I think it made it worse :(

    Bought the shift sense.

I've looked through several threads on this but haven't seen if the shift issue has to throw a code for the dealership to be able to do the flash update? I definitely have the hunting gears syndrome on the highway.

I had mine in for the 5K mile today, took them a copy of the TSB with my VIN highlighted, and got the response that they couldn't do it if they couldn't document it with a code, that Toyota Corporate would make them pay for it. They said they drove it to check. Is this correct?

    Call corporate
File the issue with them and have your case referred to your dealership
At that point they are required to address your issue

    That's what I did

Sounds good. I'm looking at the Toyota.com website and don't see a clearly corporate number, or a complaint number...can you tell me what number you used? Thanks for the help.

Maybe this has been asked, but is anyone having issues only when the a/c is on? My truck has a "lurching" forward and backward feel during up/down shifts when the a/c is on - seems to shift smooth when a/c is off. I was wondering if rev1 fixes this problem.

Grrr ... I just saw this and I *just* got my truck back from the crank sensor fix! I would have had both done at once. Any others that I should know about that Toyota won't let me know about??

My trucks transmission is definitely still shift happy despite the current TSB and supposedly ok on fluid per dealer. However, I notice it runs perfectly everytime it rains?

I've had my truck 1 week bought used with 19kms on it. This is the very first thing i noticed is the constant up-shifts while using cruise.

TY for posting and hope it gets better with the flash done

Obviously there have been some problems seen after this T-SB has been completed, but just looking for some input. Has anyone had any quivering (can’t think of a better word for it) around 1200-1800 rpms. It’s hard for me to tell if it’s the road or the truck. I am not the first owner, so I’m not sure if this is normal for the truck as it tries to re-establish shift points. Thanks for the help!

Is there a TSB for my 2019 SRDCSB (4 banger) 2WD that has 350 miles on it? Mine is doing the exact same things as described in this thread.
