I live 3:30 minutes away from my dealer. To hard to coordinate times and inconvenience due to work.

If you have your Receipt you can mail it in to Toyota and they will reimburse you, you just have to tell them you were unable to make it to any Dealer when it failed.

I just had to replace mine at 16k. Swapped in an odyssey deep cycle.

I have a lot of accessories and a fridge. But I never really killed it. I think mine just went bad. As it was good one day and bad the next.

Good to know I am calling the dealer tomorrow. Or is there another number I should call?

Its in the Owners Manuals, I believe it is in the Warranty Book Section and it says that they cover emergency repairs that you have to have done away from a Dealer and gives you an address to mail to.

    Mine tanked fast.

Camping it barely started the last two days. Then a couple days later I'd have to jump in the AM. Jump at lunch. Jump when leaving work.

I found my sweet autozone mini jump starter thing easily does 6-7 starts and still had half the bars for its charge left.

Called Toyota today and all I got to do is fax a copy of the receipt to them and they will take care of the reimbursement.

Covered by warranty at 9k miles. Mine died and had to get multiple jump starts along the way home from a camping trip.

I work across the street from a grocery store and this afternoon I saw a third gen owner with the hood up and booster cables in hand. His wife had just pulled in with her car to give him a boost(Old Honda Accord...still going strong she says). I know the guy and was curious what was going on so I walked over. He has been having issues since the weekend and said he even charged his battery yesterday, so he does not think it is the battery. Maybe the alternator? He is going to the dealer tomorrow. I will ask the outcome next time I see him. Sadly, his last comment was "you would'nt think this would happen with a 40 k truck not even two years old" (45000 km's). He was also stranded with the faulty crank position sensor last year. Long and short....he was not impressed.

    "Lets go places" Toyota says.

At one time the True Starts were pretty good, at least as good as any other standard issue flooded. Made by Johnson Controls I think. They may have switched specification or vendors. My truck had the original battery when I bought it at 7 years, 42K.

My 06 SR5's OEM battery went 9 years before I changed it out. Tempurature ranges from -15*c to +38*c where I live.

Current truck has an AGM battery which is a worthwhile upgrade IMO.

No thank heavens. This makes it easier to check the fluid levels every time I change the oil. Sealed batteries only gases the water off slower. They still lose water and by the time you figure out that it's low it's too late and the battery is ruined.

I always buy a battery I can maintain easily.

I was reading this thread last week and I decided to put both our vehicles on the charger. Sure enough both were less than 60%.

    Winter is coming.

I have been waiting on my new 2018 Tacoma, Access Cab, TRD, Magnetic Gray w/ Manual Trans. Finally came in and I picked it up Saturday. Sales person mentioned they had some problems starting it at the distribuation center so they put a new battery in it so if I saw a service survey that was why.

I drove home from the dealer and around the block twice, 28 total miles. Parked in the garage for two days and went to start today - the battery is totally dead, no lights, radio or crank.

They are picking it up tomorrow but I am super concerned, two new batteries with no miles. We will see what the dealer has to say.
