They might have it a little long for any variances. I know the 18800 is the same for the double cab or ext. Cab. I doubt those 2 have the exact same muffler path.

Sure would help if they put that on the box, site, instructions, or said that when you called into support and asked them directly. It would have saved me 2 days. Perhaps they shouldn't put "precision exhaust" on the box either. It isnt. It should say "Damn close......Enough to piss you off for 2 days"

Sorry.....im a bit pissy after the whole thing.

Can you shorten the end of the tailpipe where it goes into the muffler enough to reach the rear hanger, another words moving the tailpipe forward towards the muffler enough to use the stock hanger location?

Thats the plan at this point after finding the above posted article per fourwheeler.com. They had to slide the front inlet back to get the clearance on what i assume is the cab.....and then they had to cut few inches off the rear tail pipe to get it to line up and fit properly.

Woke up this morning and i was done in 12 minutes. Hacksaw, bastard file and 12 miinutes. Hacked off 2 inches and slid muffler back on the inlet pipe to 1.25 inches. Lets hope that is still close enough to be a safe clamp. Its on there the rattle is gone. Time to go for a spin to see if things seem ok.

    Thanks for the input everyone.

You could always get it welded at a muffler shop, shouldn't cost too much.

all seems good after the modification. Its louder than the TRD exaust for sure. It will take some getting used to but at least it is on the vehicle.

I wish I had found this thread sooner. I recently added the same Gibson exhaust my '01 extracab and thought it had gone on without a problem. When I finally put some miles on driving around I discovered it wasn't such a good fit. I could hear a noise that I realized like the OP was the exhaust hitting the cab when I went over even a slight bump.

I was getting ready to take it off this weekend and try to cut away at the cab seam. But this does look like the answer for me too.

Question, the link posted above mentions turning the hanger around. Did you have to do that as well? And should I cut a full 2" off the pipe? It looked like you measured about 1.25" of extra clearance needed.

Has anyone tried cutting away the cab seam for a little extra clearance?
