For those that need plates we have solid plates (3/16") for 2nd gen's and 3rd gen's, plus FJC, 4th/5th gen 4runners, and 2nd/3rd gen Tundra's.

I see in your pics, your welder is connected straight to the frame. Now I am not a welder myself, but I had a general question regarding this. Do you have a safety mechanism that connects to the battery, since you are running current through your frame, I'm assuming it would run through your grounds on your car, and a voltage spike could ruin some electronics. Do you use some sort of electronic mechanism that connects to the battery or something to protect from this event happening? Or is this not necessary and I am just over analyzing it

We disconnect the battery while welding.

I know its an old thread but where did you go for this price? I've already paid somebody to mess it up once. I still grind when wheels turn in reverse or when going through a ditch.

If running 285s or larger you can still rub.

They are 285s. I bought some plates that came with instructions (Insane Fabrication plates bought from Toytec). The local welder didn't follow instructions. They didn't cut enough at all. It might still rub a little when they're done, but not like this. It sounds like machine gun fire when turning, lol.

Rubber on metal usually don't sound like that. But rubber on plastic will. Sure it's not hitting the plastic liner?
