Just got my 2015 AC and I've noticed that when my AC and Recirc are OFF my vents are blowing air much warmer than ambient temperature. Is this normal?

I recently did the disable Max AC mod to make sure the air blend door is all the way on cool so no warm air from the heat core is getting pulled into the cabin and it didn't seem to help much

I think they all do to some extent. Mine does too just a small amount, but I run the AC most of the time even in winter.

It pulls ambient air through the back of the engine bay

Yup, it pulls air from just under the back of the hood on the passenger side. If you are moving slow you will notice it get hotter n hotter, cruising at 60mph when under hood temps are only a few deg above actual ambient its minimal.

Also you probably have a black dash which heats up in the sun quite a bit, which will also heat up the vents and everything under the dash so the air will heat up when it runs through those tubes.
