    None as of yet
you might gain 1 horsepower at 6,000 rpm if you pair with a CAI and exhaust.

So yeah, totally worth it in my book

K&N? Never again- downstream oil mist burned out the air flow sensor on my 2002 TRD, the replacement cost was so high, I would never have paid that much in paper filters for the years I had the truck. And no, I didn't overspray the oil or not follow directions properly, in fact the service I bought it from was maintaining it for me.

All of the performance gains you experience will be directly correlated to the weight reduction experienced by your wallet.

The lighter your wallet, the less mass that has to be accelerated.

Add in a throttle body spacer and a fart pipe and you will be within spitting distance of an Alcubierre drive :burnrubber:

Or just go buy a bottle of snake oil when it's on sale.

    IOW, No.

I have the K&N "CAI".....If you take a look at your stock filter/ filter box you'll realize that it's more of a cold air intake than the K&N...@or above 5000rpm you will notice a tiny increase in HP and it definitely sounds really throaty but not worth it in my opinion...as far as your MAF sensor being damaged by it...all you need to to is pull the sensor and clean it every do often...takes about 5 minutes.

Cleaning the sensor body would help to keep oil deposits down, but the carbon buildup on the heated sensor wires on mine was from burning oil mist carried in the air passing through the filter, causing the wires to break. I don't think cleaning will be effective on the sensor wires directly. I hadn't cleaned it, and upon opening up my dead sensor, it was pretty obvious that red K&N filter oil mist being deposited on the sensor wires caused the problem.

I would use the OEM Toyota paper filters(made in USA), they are better build and quality than the aftermarket filters, ive tried a few cheaper aftermarket filters and none have the build quality of the OEM Filter, just got to search online for the best prices they will cost a little more.

I would stick with the paper. I've had the KN drop ins and the cais.

    Nothing major but noise.

Most people around here swear that they let in more dirt. I do mostly road driving to work so I'm trying one out right now. I've ran them in every car I've owned and most of my family's cars without issue. My Dad's Outlander has been running fine with one for over 100,000 miles.

Will you notice a difference? Probably not until you get up in the RPMs. Is nothing huge, but I did it to let my truck breath a little better one hot/humid Midwestern Summer afternoons.

I have run a K&N filter in my 1990 F150 pickup (302) for 114K, my 91 Ford Explorer (4.0 V6) 89K, my 2006 GMC Sierra (5.3) 126K and a Husqvarna ZTH6125KAA zero turn two cylinder Kawasaki air cooled engine equipped with a Donaldson type filter housing for 16 years and counting. Not one engine burned oil. Not one engine harmed a mass air flow sensor (auto engines only, of course).

The major difference was seen on the Kawasaki engine on the Husqvarna. It's a rear engine unit equipped with an inner and outer filter (both OE Kawasaki). The original outer filter would let enough fine dust thru it to make the inner fine filter discolor with dirt. The inner filter appears to be a fine mesh white felt over a screen with molded ends. Replacing both filters cost over $40. I put the K&N outer filter in the housing along with a new inner OE fine filter. That was 16 years ago and I have yet to find any dust on the inner filter. It is as white and clean as the day I put it in.

If any engine would be eaten by fine dust, this would be this one because it is a rear engine design, cutting grass in dry hot weather. I have to change the blades 3 times per year because thin patches in the grass allow the blades to pick up grit and sand blast the edge off of them.

So, over 320 K street and dirt road miles on car engines and 16 years cutting 8 acres per cut, every week on an average during the cutting season for 16 years and counting and zero dirt problems getting past the K&N filters.

Just put the K&N sticker on your back window that’ll do the same as installing the filter itself.

The computers in your truck automatically adjust for air/fuel flow. Throwing in a K&N does nothing for fuel mileage or performance.

I had a great result with mine and 90k miles. Zero problems and definitely faster. The exhaust didnt add any power, but I'm positive the K and N did. if it didn't, pretty sure they'd have been class auctioned by now.
