Local dealer to me has a white '16 4d Sport 4wd with 16K miles and the manual tranny for 33K. I don't put any weight with a "lifetime warranty".

The dealership that has it has unlimited warranty on just about all the 2017s. They won’t budge off the price.

Said it before and will say it countless times in my life. Offer 3k less than they are asking out the door to start negotiations. It should work out well, as long as they are willing to work with customers, which they should be because SO many people get ripped on cars. Letting one walk away making minimal returns should be okay.

A back step for when I get older, Carhartt seatcovers, 4Runner wheels, Topper, and "tats all folks"! --for now!!
They can go lower -- I paid 30,575 (no financing stuff and no trade-in to cloud the issues) for my SR5 4WD AT AC V6 with the only option --the tow pkg.. I did order it and waited 7-8 weeks -- but damit --I got it the way "I " wanted it. the 75 bucks was for a paperwork fee (first time in my life I caved into that nonsense) This was for the truck -- no taxes/license stuff as this varies from state to state.
    Good luck !

I plugged a few numbers into my calculator to boil down how much per year this truck would cost me based on how long I would expect it to last. I get ~$2700 off MSRP as a number for a truck with 14,000 miles.

That doesn't take into account that I don't get a new truck that I know was driven w/o abuse or properly maintained or the fact that I'm losing a good chunk of the factory warranty. I'd count that "lifetime warranty" as worthless based on what I said above. I'd have to go $5000 off the above listed new truck price to even consider it. So, $25,500+sales tax. $28ish?

Mine came with the lifetime powertrain but all you have to have is documentation of the work done

This truck you also have to have documentation and can have it serviced at any Toyota dealership.

I know they have wiggle room to come off price. The good news is I am in no hurry and I know the brand new SR cost around 32500 here in Tennessee

So what your saying, is since your healthy don't buy health insurance ? That's so backwards ! If your going to keep a vehicle longer than the factory warranty getting a extended warranty is a great idea. Better safe than sorry. If your going to keep it for a very long time get a lifetime . Knock on wood you don't use .
It's people like you that cause others to make poor life decisions .
Don't get a warranty use that money for mod's !! Just plain ignorant IMO
