Ya know guys, I'm gonna dump money into my diesel for a bit but..... I'm seriously thinking I wanna supercharge this. Fuck the mileage, I've seen so many high miles supercharged Toyota's in my life now! I want it

 

It's hard when you get used to diesel horse power to transfer over to squirrel power. I always wanted to LS swap my taco, and that may end up happening with my landcruiser at some point. Look around, it may end up being cheaper than a supercharger and you end up with a 500hp taco...

 

Lmao I don't see how I could LS swap for under 5k man..... plus all the work to make it fit.... and to make the dash not freak out.... and then I'd need a new axle, and then I'd probably wreck the tranny lol....

 

you can find a 5.3l v8 drive train form a chevy 1500/2500 for under a grand at most junk yards. Do some cam/head swaps and you'll have 400hp NA. Get a little creative with the mounting. Custom drive shaft. Deal with the wiring. Done.

Would be cheaper than a blower for sure.

But...about 1000x the work.

Tacoma got a new replacement MTR yesterday. Being that the tire is ever so slightly bigger.... what corner should it go on?

 

Passenger side front. The only time power goes to that tire is in 4wd, and even then not much unless you have a front locker, in which case you won't be driving fast on dry pavement anyhow.

I'm sure you already made a decision, but just in regards to your poll, I have aluminum front bumper and skids. I'm sure that I'm enjoying the weight savings, though I haven't been able to compare... however, my skids are bent and mashed, and my bumper is bent from recoveries. Also, I can't add anything to it (wanted to make tube fenders) because I don't have the tools/skill to weld aluminum. In the end I wish I went steel.

Taco needs a new battery. At least I'm hoping that's it and I don't have a spontaneous drain.....

I seriously never drive this thing anymore. It was outside during most of the winter and is dead every time I go to drive it. This last time it didn't last two days.

Anyways... Yellow Top? I've just had an autozone duralast platinum (or whatever) in there for 4 years.

What's your guys vote?!

 

I've heard (according to the internet) that Optima doesn't have the same reputation as they used to. I've been running 2x Northstar AGM's for a while and they have been awesome. I also ran a single Odyssey AGM for a while and that was a sweet battery. winch, lights, compressor & fridge.

One time I forgot to reconnect my Aux Northstar battery after doing some electrical work, so it would run stuff, but wouldn't get charged. I went on a camping trip, ran my lights for a few days, ran my fridge for a month, and aired up my tires once before the battery died and I realized that I had forgotten to flip the switch. Charged it back up, and all good. I was very impressed.
