A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
Take a look to see if your bumper is attached to the body or frame, that will answer your question. I'm pretty sure its attached to the body, but you'll need to bend some tabs

Do the body lift. It's like $160, and several hours. Your truck will not blow up, it won't suddenly rip holes through it.
Most other countries in the world have extremely strict rules on vehicle modifications, like no lifts over 2". If you look at trucks in Australia You will see lots run a small bodylift in addition to the suspension lift.

    It's your truck not Tacomaworlds.

Body lifts are perfectly fine. Serve purpose and compliment suspension lift and larger tires.

It gives you clearance on the trail and for up travel when running larger tires like 35s. It keeps COG low since most weight is in frame and drivetrain.

I forgot to add up to 1.5" BL is the most you want to run. Like stated above anything larger causes electrical components to stretch.

Body lifts can be great when used in conjunction with a suspension lift. People love to hate a body lift, but in moderation they can be great. Everyone needs to read this article. It'll explain when body lifts are good and when they're not.

Yes you are right. I would like to be able to fit 35 without rub for clearence. On my last truck I bent the front fender due to not enough clearence for uptravel. This time I will have 3" suspension lift (Kings all around and custom Alcan pack in the rear) with 1" body lift. I will have to do cab mount chop, trim fender flares and fenders as needed after both body lift and suspension lifts are installed, and then hammer pinch weld or anything else that might get in the way. Also, you better check/upgrades your bumpstops because that will save you lot of headache. After that I will be regearing to 4.88
According to the reserarch that I have done and from personal experience and speaking with vendors and talking to friends who have installed 1" body lift, 1" is as high as I will go...nothing more than that due to some obvious reasons mentioned here. Toytec's website clearly mentions that this body lift will create 1" gap between the bumper and body, but I will just modify the mounting brackets to eliminate that gap till I get the high clearence rear bumper. Hope this helps.

Don't listen to any of these guys, I've ran 3" bodylifts on a zr2 blazer and an 01' Dakota. Make sure there everything is torqued and rechecked in a month or 2. You'll be beyond fine with a 1".

There’s about a 7/8” gap from the bottom of the physical crash bar to the urethane bumper cover (the part you see). When you do the body lift it moves the bumper cover up, but not the crash bar. The end result is the crash bar presses on the bottom of the bumper cover. This created a tiny gap between the cover and the black ‘chin’ on my truck. It’s like a 1/16” gap. Nothing major. I could probably modify something or throw a washer under the crash bar bolt... but I have a new front bumper to install so I’m not worried.

Thank you sir do you have a pic if possible so the bumper still lines up with the fender just the front part raises above the crash bar seeing the crash bar?

I have been there and done that (mentally). Have decided to invest in Icons and do it right once. Some people like the body lift and the doughnut adds but is the poor man's lift :crapstorm:.
If money is not a problem, get coilovers, UCA and leaf springs to lift it and be happy once from the beginning.

Money isn't the problem, but the height/clearance is the issue. Usually, with coilovers 3'' lift is safest because if you start going over 3'' it will mess up your axles/joints. Unless you want to do some serious modification and go with 6'' lift. It also depends on what size tire you will be going with. If you get 33'' tires and have 3'' lift, there will be very minor trimming needed if any, but if you go with 3'' lift and decide to put 35'' tires then either you start hacking fenders or use body lift...your choice.
