I will be doing a 1" this winter so I can hopefully run 33" without any rub. I have a 3" suspension lift now and my 275"s will only rub in reverse at full lock.

A body lift will give you more clearance for larger tires than a suspension lift will.

All a suspension lift does is push your control arms further down putting your truck closer to full droop at ride height. The truck still has the same amount of travel and the tires will still go through the same motion as the stock setup. If you go with longer control arms, then you are changing the suspension geometry and this does not apply.

A body lift actually lifts the body and fenders away from the suspension, so you gain tire clearance.

I don't understand why some people don't get this. A SUSPENSION LIFT IS NOT CHANGING THE SUSPENSION GEOMETRY. The only thing that would be different is if you put larger bump stops to limit your up travel. The only reason for this is to prevent the shock/coil from bottoming out or the tire from smashing the fender.

Did you have to use the radiator drop brackets?

Never mind....yes I had to use the radiator drop brackets because fan was too close to the shroud.

If you got your suspension dialed in where you want it and it flexes and rides good but you need more Tire clearance I don't see nothing wrong with a body lift I've run one for years because I wanted just suspension travel and leveled but run bigger tires to get ground clearance and ran a body lift to have plenty of room flexing. And too prevent hacking my fenders bumpers ect

I did! And I don't see reason for not doing especially with 35s

Also, anyone curious how bad it the gap might look with sliders...here is the comparison. Picture is with cab with 1 inch body lift and bed at stock level

Been looking into this body lift option, as a few taco guys in the area with killer rigs on 35’s have convinced me that 35’s is where it’s at. The body lift they use is from some old 4x4 Fabrications website, can’t think of the name but I’ll post it up as soon as I get it.

Just get Toytec's 1 inch body lift bro...its cheap...it was like 150 or 160 bucks and came with all the hardware and instructions, including gas tank filler tube lift. I had to do the 1'' body lift because I got 35's and they were rubbing really bad in the front. Tires not only rubbed at the cab mount, but also on the top of the wheel well where the battery area is and I didn't wanted to hammer the battery area so decided to go with body lift and so far I am loving it!
