Anyone know if a Discount Tire store can match their ebay page? less than $600 for a set of 5 tires is a hell of a deal.

Why not just use the Ebay store? You can still ship them to a Discount Tire store if you wanted.

If I can get the same price as ebay buying through the local store I'd rather do that - I'd be using them for install anyway, might as well give the guys doing the work the sale. If they don't price match, I'll order from ebay.

Found this that's kinda promising though

I just left the actual store because I wanted to know the same thing.

The answer is yes, "you will just have to pay the sales tax" is what the representative told me. So here's a further breakdown on some pricing I did for my fiance's tires:

$328 for the tires shipped to my door from the ebay special, this is just tires obviously.

$437.48 for the tires purchased through the store front to include: $8.56 in environmental fees, $7 for tire disposal fee, $64 for mount&balance and $29.92 in taxes.

got them in! i do not have a thread gauge but used a penny and looks like 13/32 for the 265/75R16 P tires! also they weighted in at 46 pounds each more than the advertised 44lb! what was the yellow and the red dots for again?

The yellow dot is a heavy spot on the tire and should generally be lined up with the valve stem on the wheel for easier balancing. If there is also a red dot, it is to be used instead.

Yellow my fellow, unless there's red and then use it instead.

Red is for runout. Use it with the valve stem

DTD just clarified on their post that while the store can match, they are NOT REQUIRED to match. Seems like I have good people at my local store.

Was getting ready to post the DTD deal. $356 for a set of four 265/75/16 tires is a steal!

Discount tire eBay sale is going on right now! $100 off $400! But 2 sets of 2 tires,
I bought ridge grapplers today at local store. Know them well! Told them I could still get cheaper through eBay considering tax. They lowered the tire price more and matched exactly to the penny what it would have been through eBay! So I had to pay tax, but the tires were even cheaper. Stellar group!

I just had mine put on last week and then had to go to the dealer for a service. On the paperwork I got back all 4 tires measured at 13/32nds On my 265/70/17 SL AT3W's.

went and picked up a thread gauge, here are the results: 13 across the middle area, 12 for the ribs at the edge of the tires.

Finally got some of these bad boys installed yesterday in the stock TRD Sport size (since it's my DD I didn't want to mess with an inaccurate odometer/speedometer and worse mileage than necessary). Super stoked to get some all terrains instead of the all seasons the previous owner had on. Had to get 'em dirty right away, hopefully find some snow soon enough.

For those of you wondering about the yellow and red dots...

The yellow is to be used as the easiest method... You line that up with the valve stem...

The red however, is to be used when the rim still has an indicator mark/sticker to show the heavy point on the rim..

The red dot lines up with the mark or sticker... If you can't find the location, just use the yellow dot and line it up with the valve stem..

Don't line up the red with the valve stem..

This is right from Falken... I called yesterday.
