Does the state require it to be engraved saying "pistol"? If it's just a stripped lower when you do the 4473 it will still say "other" just like the stripped receiver you built it with originally.

Just curious on the state aspect of it, not trying to be an argumentative dick.

No worries, It's marked as a pistol from what I know, so I don't have to do the forms to convert it to a pistol. I wanted a spare lower anyway to do another build.

How do you like the Geissele maritime bolt catch? I have one on my AR. Pretty happy with it.

A couple weeks ago, I bought as many .300 Blackout Gen 3 Pmags as I could get my hands on (19) since they're hard to find. Tried painting a couple of them, but wasn't too happy with the outcome. Far right was a khaki base, next one was "nutmeg" which was leftover from painting interior parts for my '81 Pickup. Both had some rustoleum "italian olive" over the. Funny that the nutmeg with some green (a little less that what I used) seems to match the actual magpul fde better than the aluma-hyde "magpul fde" color.

I ended up painting the rest with the aluma-hyde

Also painted a couple other parts too including the blast shield. Anyone know if the aluma-hyde will stand up to the heat? Doesn't say anything about it on the can or on Brownell's site.
