For every day either Four Roses Single Barrel (at $30 around here can't be beat, imo) or Ardbeg 10. The Ardbeg is kind of blasphemy being that I live in the heart of bourbon country, but there's nothing quite like drinking a campfire by the ocean, if you know what I mean.

I go back and forth between bourbon and Scotch. Right now I'm in a bit of transition and enjoying either one depending on my mood. I had been really into Scotch for several years but have come back around to bourbon more lately. Really focusing on the complexities and variations in the different Scotches has made me appreciate bourbon all the more. Also helps that there's a pretty healthy markup on Scotch where I live and bourbon is "local" so can be had for cheaper than a lot of places.

By the way, if I could afford to drink it regularly, I would definitely say Aberlour A'Bunadh as someone else mentioned. Really, really good stuff but has increased from about $90 to $115 a bottle here in the last year so enjoying it often is a bit pricey for me.

I always try my Whisky/Whiskey neat at first, then add water as necessary to open it up. Distilled water for Scotch and filtered tap water for Bourbon. The source of my tap water is the same source as most of the distilleries around here. They say you should dilute with the same/similar water as the spirit was distilled with. Easy enough for me. Distilled water if source water isn't feasible. Whatever...

Yeah, the Dog and Safe aren't available in the states as far as I know. But, Apparently the Dog is really good seen a couple write ups on it and folks adore it. Like I need one more reason to visit Ireland and Scotland.

My mom just got back from vacay in Ireland and brought me back 4 small bottles of their local whiskey. Will post pics when I'm off from work.

Got a few sets of these. Never really been a whiskey guy, but if I do, it's usually just Jack and Coke. I'd probably do these on the rocks.

Picked up these 2 last week...

Love some Weller Antique! But damn, it's getting hard to find! Sweet, smooth, and mellow... Really like the wheaters!

    IMG_9397.jpg

The 4 Roses is very good as well... Heavier rye mashbill is on the opposite end of the bourbon spectrum compared to the wheated Antique. Nice and spicy!
