This was my first time doing one at night, and definitely my last. I was a little uneasy going into it because of that, and should've listened to my gut from the beginning.

Did he have a weapon on? Badge could have been on his belt next to it. If you truely have doubts he was legit LEO, (and it sounds like you do based on your feelings you've described) it might be worth a phone call to your local LEO's to report it. Every once in a while you get a moron who thinks it is a good idea to imitate an officer and be up to no good. They take that very seriously and if nothing else, it tips them off that they might need to be watching for that in the area for a while.

I tell myself the exact same thing as I am loading and holstering my weapon every morning.

We roll in the black and tans here too, but there is no doubt when I am in uniform that I am an officer (even when just ii the office) I have a badge embroidered on the left chest of my shirt, police embroidered on both sleeves, and my hard badge and duty weapon clearly visible on my right hip with my shirt tucked in, and my cuffs and an extra mag on my left hip. And occasionally my credentials around my neck depending on the situation.

If I am in the field working the street, I have all that, plus a molle tactical carrier with my Kevlar inside and a radio and taser attached with another badge patch and "police" in reflective print on the front and back.

I go into this much detail because no LEO wears a uniform that would cause the public (Cody in this case) to identify them in public as LEO without a hard badge or credentials clearly visible as well along with a weapon. For their own safety and protection, especially given the current climate/tension regarding LEO's. The first they do if you are involved in a shooting is take a picture of how you are dressed to show whether or not it clearly visible that you are police. I won't even go into the grocery store with my kids in uniform on my way home from work anymore.

Something is fishy to me with Cody 's encounter.

If you wanted something even a bit smaller than the shield, you'd like the Glock 43. One of the smallest, most comfortable guns I have ever carried! I think we have talked about this before though. The shields are nice thought. I was eyeing the 2.0 in the latest sales ad for the local sporting goods store a few days ago.

He had a weapon but I was more focused on his body language and finding a badge, I made sure to check his belt but I didn't see a badge also his shirt didn't have a badge, I was mainly focused on where he was and what he was doing. He walked hunched forward with his head down and every cop I've ever seen walked with upright posture and head on a swivel

Hmm...yeah...something doesn't seem right about him. He should of had a hard badge either on his left chest or on his belt next to his weapon...

    Any shoulder patches?
