Oh yeah I forgot to answer about my wheels. Scs wheels have a nice wider aggressive stance and are made specifically for Toyotas.

Get a nice set of suspension (King, Icon, Fox) and you can adjust the suspension height to your liking. Buy wheels with the correct backspacing and you'll have your dream stance no problem!

I Built my 2017 TRD Off Road. Much better bang for the buck. The pros are great trucks but the aftermarket mods and accessories can blow them away.

Yep - as other have mentioned, check out Catzkin (I think that's how they spell it), or I believe there is another company that offers the same thing as well but I can't remember their name :p

    all tore up already
You can build a better pro for less money if you start with a sport or or imo. Literally everything the pro has, theres a better aftermarket version usually for less money. Id put clazzio leather over oem, aftermarket wheels and tires are better, suspension options are endless, skids should be steel anyways if you plan on using them and led fogs have about a dozen options. In my mind you are looking at roughly 6k in upgrades to make it similar but better than a pro. Plus it will be tailored to your needs and uses and you can sell your stock takeoffs and recoup a good chunk of money.

If you are not into off road, and don't think you will be, there is no need to pay for the locker, ATRAC and crawl control on the Pro when you can get a similar look for much less on the sport and then add a small lift yourself.

Not one single post in here has accurately addressed the differences between the Pro and Sport/OR, but have addressed what difference was important to them.

OP, if you want a black Pro, buy a Pro and wrap/paint it in your choice of black.

IMO the Pro has the best of the OR and the best of the Sport combined in the same package. If you want something from each, the Pro probably gives you that in a factory warrantied and tuned package.

When it comes time to sell, peel the wrap.

Building a custom truck is for people with time, facilities and energy to do so. Lots of mods are designed poorly, installed poorly and perform poorly. And you will likely never get a fraction of the money you spent modifying a OR or Sport to be like a Pro if you want to sell it.

If you want the cosmetics of a Sport, but the stance of the Pro, you will easily accomplish that cheaper with suspension and wheel mods. If you actually want a Pro, you won't be able to build one for less starting with a Sport/OR.

Guys! I finally got my truck! I got a trd sport because of the hood scoop and got the grill and bed cover! Any lift and wheels you would recommend? IMG_5125.jpg IMG_5126.jpg

I'm thinking about the following but I don't know how the stance would look, I don't know the difference between 16x7 or 16x8 and I don't know how what tires would look good. I don't want anything crazy, just something that looks good

I guess just some 285 75 (or stock size if you don't want to trim) AT tires to finish it off, I'd go kbro2s

I was in the same boat. I wanted the sun roof, technology pack, and dual climate control. I ended up building my Taco Off Road with all the goodies from a Pro (suspension, lights, skid, fog lights, grill, etc). My last upgrade will be the hood and I should pretty much have a Pro minus the interior stuff.
I was told that the TRD Pro are build off SR5 models. Hence why it's missing a few things. Hope this help you out buddy ;-)

    Like, so many.
What exactly are you wanting to accomplish? The Pro doesn't actually have a lift, but you can get the wheels (or similar) and the same tires. If you do want a lift there a million ways to do that.

You could have just traded hoods with someone here on the hood trade thread if that's why you wanted the sport. I'm trading my OR hood for a Sport hood next month. The price for the OR was the same and I have the locking rear, MTS, Crawl. The hood is an easy change, 4 bolts and 10 minutes to swap. But I like the look of your rig, still an awesome truck. I gotta get me a pro grill soon, I'm envious :)

Seems like a no brainer - get the off road with tech package then build it. My '17 dcor has a sunroof already and the only thing that is missing on the OR that the Pro has that I really wanted was leather, but I know I can add that later. The other reason, for me, the pro didn't work is 'cause it only has a short bed and I wanted a long bed.
