I think I'm going to go about it with a little plastic welding and then sanding and maybe a little body filler. Ill be wrapping all of the dash with vinyl and padding so you won't see the color difference or body filler. And i already got the duct with the panel and it just snaps into place.

Got the leaf springs wire brushed for paint.
    IMG_20171019_141209.jpg
Then I'll be painting with Chassis Saver and will top coat it with this graphite based paint to help with friction. I also ordered new, thicker leaf spring pads as 1. The old ones are completely deteriorated, 2. They are less than 16th of an inch thick!! And 3. They are made out of plastic. I'm hoping the new polyurethane ones will be much better. Found a candidate for the V8 swap.
5.7 TBI with the 4l80E, it's fully electronic... So maybe paddle shifters? :D

EDIT: Oh, did I forget to mention it's 4wd... I'll be going for V8 and 4wd all in one go lol

That sounds pretty cool except for a few things. The tbi 350 is pretty gutless in stock trim. You could probably throw a bunch of mods at it but you'd be better to start off with a vortec 350 or better yet a 5.3. Another issue is the front diffs are pretty weak or so I've been told.

Ah don't worry, I'm doing a full build, cam, forged internals, full rollers, port polish, all the good stuff, just using the block really, and I'll won't be using the diff, just the transfer case

Oh sweet this build is really gonna be something. Are you considering forced induction?

No haha, not quite yet. First visit will be front bumper tied into an engine cage and shock hoops. Next visit hopefully a beginning of a cage with just the hoop and crossbar for harnesses, this is my inspiration picture. Simple, safe, and practical
