Did the secondary make much of a difference? Or was it all installed at the same time?

It was all installed at the same time. I've been waiting for quite sometime for the kit. I pick up it up tomorrow.

Between the stuff I'm seeing here and the wife's 4runner my new Tacoma is looking a bit undone! I need to hurry up and start spending!

Just installed my deltas on Friday night with a buddy, not too horrible to do with the UCAs still on the truck. My uniballs were noisy and my front end was wobbly to say the least. Fingers crossed this is a long term greaseble solution for us.

So for those of you that have installed the Delta joint, how hard was the install? Did you use a press, bfh, or etc.? Did you remove the uca? Also any and all tips or help you have to offer is greatly appreciated. Currently saving up to replace my icon uniballs. Thank you!

I removed the UCA as it's easier to work with. You can purchase the ICON uniball tool or use something similar to press in the joint, but there is a slight angle when pressing in the joint which is critical. I placed the UCA on the ground and tapped in the joint with a brass hammer and the ICON tool. Sorry, I don't have pics of the process, but it's fairly easy to do...

I had Bilstein 6112/5160 and Icon UCA w/ Deltas installed about 1100 miles ago and now I'm starting to hear "creek-creek-creek" somewhere in the front end. Is it most likely the Delta joints? Which grease is good to use for the joints? Thanks.

Are you sure it's not the bushings that are creaking? You might need to lube the bushings. For the uniball, ONLY use dry lube if any. ICON actually doesn't recommend any lubricants on the uniballs at all.

You sure it's not coming from your lower ball joints? Better check the rubber seals for grease leakage and breakdown

Only grease the joint with a moly type grease. It's best for metal on metal

Yeah that's the next thing I'm gonna grease. Got the Delta joints greased up but the creeking noise continued although after couple of days the creeking noise lessens.

Hope not but I'll check that.

I used Moly Syngard 2000 for the delta joint
what grease do I need for the UCA bushings? Thanks!

Any Lithium based grease is good for poly bushings...

Thanks for the input. Seems like it was coming from the bushings. I loosened the long UCA bolt and greased the bushings on the left UCA and creaking went away.

Also noticed that grease is only coming out of one side of the bushings, maybe next time I'll push the UCA on each side while loosened then grease it to force the grease out of each side.

I’ve been hunting down a noise in my passenger front end [what I thought was the UCA] for weeks now. Grease & replace the Bushings didn’t do it. Bugging the shit out me...
    Finally figured it out!
It’s the top of the shock rubbing in the top hat because the top bushing is pretty much blown out and causing it to squeak squeak squeak... Every little nook & cranny in the road. :boink:
Anyway... just another possible noise maker. I don’t believe this would be a problem with ICONs as they don’t use a top hat and pop up through the top like traditional shocks do. :notsure:

Negative, Icon does use top hats with spherical bearings. Mine never made any noise in years though

Right. But the shockdoesn’t shoot up through the hole with the Bushings and washers and nut etc... right? That’s where my issue is at the moment.
