I was not really thinking of ever creating a build thread, but someone was asking about it on the TW FB group so I figured I'd put something together. This will probably end up being more of a picture thread/trip report type of thread for me. You can also find me on IG: peternguyen86

The Beginning: 5/2014
Picked up the truck brand new. A MGM Double Cab TRD Offroad 4x4 with 3 miles on the odometer. It took a long time to find a truck that matched what I was looking for and I was shopping for deals for months.





It was my first brand new car. I've always bought cheap used cars in the past. Started off bone stock but that didn't last long.


Took it out on its first off pavement outing a few days later with a buddy of mine up to Santiago Peak to catch the sunrise. Got a little dirt on the tires and some mild pin striping before my license plate even came in.









7/2015 Took the truck on a road trip to Utah to check out Zion and Bryce. Stuck some Triple Aught Design and MOTUS decals on it. +10 horsepower Where are my TAD Junkies and MOTUS Tribe people at?






9/2014 Picked up some suspension for the truck. ICON front and rear, Camburg UCA's





10/2014 Picked up IFS skid and also raw Sliders from Pelfreybilt. Had Jason (Speed Freek on TW) in SD weld on the sliders for me. He did a great job. Highly recommended. Great work for even better prices. Sprayed the Sliders and skids myself.

Same month, also got a decent deal on a set of 5 Methods so swapped out my wheels.






I also like to shoot, so took the truck out to some BLM with a few friends to get some shooting in. By this point I've plastiderped my badges and front emblem.

11/2014 - Ordered some LED bed lights from TW member MattGecko. Installed them. Pretty sweet. This same month was the FJ cruisers Surf n Turf at Pismo Beach, so I went with 2 buddies out to that event. Good times. CB radio was also installed. Cobra 75 + firestick.










12/2014 Front bumper from Pelfreybilt comes in. Also aluminum mid skid also from Pelfreybilt comes in. Installed on the truck. It's also another shooting trip to set up the rifles.





1/2015 By now I have my 20" single row LED bar in and the pods in the bumper. Went on a camping trip to Anza Borrego with some of the offroading guys. Fun trip and will definitely be back to this area to explore some more.







3/2015 Not much going on at this point. Haven't done much to the truck. Researching roof top tents and mounting options and found a fellow TW member (NVwiggins) on instagram. Msged back and forth and he sold me his Relentless Fab bed bars since he was planning on custom building a full on rack for himself. Great guy to deal with, good communication and shipped promptly.




4/2014 - Ordered a Tepui Kukenam Sky rooftop tent for the truck from Pelfreybilt. Just in time for a 2 day archery shoot at Chamberlin Ranch.




then off to another 2 day archery shoot in Fresno. First time putting the RTT through rain.




and thats how the truck pretty much sits today.

6/2015 Currently rocking Falken Rocky Mountains in 285/75/16. Burning out from work so decided to do a quick overnighter up in Big Bear with the old lady and our 2 dogs. We went up to Crab Flats and pretty much had the entire campground to ourselves. No camp host, I think there was one other couple at the far end of the campgrounds.
