    Hey yall,

    Just wanted to introduce myself and a few pics of my 1st gen Tacoma. I've been reading this forum for a couple of months and it has given me all kinds of new ideas of how to spend money. I think this place might get me in more trouble with the wife than a porn site.

    Anyhow here is a pic of my 2000 Pre Runner. Bought it as you see it for 5200 with 110k on the clock. Needed a truck and this one presented itself. Has Bilstien 5100's on all 4 corners with a 3ish inch lift. It gets new rims and tires on Friday. Only other mods are a cold air intake and a set of headers. The previous owner went to the trouble of putting the headers on it and hooked them up to the stock exhaust. Seemed kinda senseless to me but at least it saves me the cost and work of adding them myself.

    I anticipate adding a build page in the near future as it is my intention to turn this 2 wheel drive, open rearend, gutless wonder into a 4x4 that I can have some fun with. As a mechanic by trade the work doesn't scare me and the wealth of information here should make the project much easier.

    Nah, I work on a property with a lot of woodland trails. Just ran over some branches and poof. Turns out the Firestone Destinations use cellophane for their sidewalls. I had been thinking about putting a little bit bigger tire on the truck but with the gen 2 rims at a 25 offset I couldn't get any more than a 265 70 16 or so under it. That led me to look into rims as a way to get a bit more tire. I got on here and looked at some of the tire and rim combos which led me to the discovery of the diff lock option. Researching that led me to some of the prerunner 4x4 swaps. That damn 10 cent plug is leading me to posting a build thread later today. After a couple pretty good spills off the bike my wife wont let me race motorcycles anymore so I gotta get it somewhere. Wheeling will have to suffice. You would think at 51 years old I would grow out of some of this stuff but I guess it is just in my blood.
