After doing a lot of searching on the site for someone that had good/bad experiences at shops that handle gearing, I haven't come across any recommendations in Southern California. I'm new to owning a Tacoma but not new to offroading. I used to have a '94 YJ running 33x12.5 super swampers. My rear end was a reverse cut Currie built Dana 44, 4.56 gears and a Detroit soft lock. I never had the chance to change out the front Dana 30 to a sturdier 44 but it did just fine. That being said I really don't want to change out the entire rear end for a Currie since I'm not doing that style of rock crawling. I do want to put 4.88's to match the tires and lift I plan on doing. I need a shop though.

No I have not, but he is the best I know as he is a certified toyota master tech and he has done a bunch of work on members trucks in socal.
@eccracer104 Will also agree I am sure.

Jason is the MAN for installs, repairs and some custom work, but I don't think he does gear installs when you need to measure the backlash and all that jazz. I know he will do the ECGS full drop in gear sets, but if you have gears alone and need them installed you would want to call yotamasters.

Anyone in the Orange county area for gear installs, looking at Rebel offroad.

When I spoke to Rebel off-road about doing my lift and replacing the needle bearing with the ECGS bushing, the guy I spoke to said there is no issue with with the needle bearing and replacing it with the ECGS bushing is a waste of time and money.
I used Jason to do the work. I don’t know about replacing gears but lack of established knowledge, which is even acknowledged by Toyota techs would keep me away from Rebel off-road. I think they specialize in Jeeps.
