Found a ScanGauge II at a yard sale this weekend for $30.

Ran the wire to the left side magnet mount. Couple of zip ties. Bam! Transmission temp when I'm towing. Phone mount when I'm not.

Are you looking for the magnetic mount?
It's a Scosche Magic Mount. They com with a base that is meant to be stuck onto a surface with double sided tape. I unscrewed it from that base and chucked it, leaving just the mag mount and the arm with a small ball on the end.

That small ball fits reasonably well into the smallest size RAM mount arm.

    Does that help?

Rammount "A" ball is 0.56" aka 9/16", not 0.25" (1/4") not much RAM stuff is A, most is B (1"). "A" is only rated to hold max 1 lb, and that includes the mount

Right. It's the one that is 0.56.
You want the little threaded ball that screws into the mount, and an arm that accepts the 0.56 ball on either end.

The Scosche mounts arm/ball is plastic and weighs almost nothing. So does the ScanGauge. Fwiw, I have my iPhone 7 slapped onto that mount every day without issue. It's got an Otter Box commuter case on it.

    Good luck!!
