Meh there really is no such thing as mid travel. You are either long travel or not.

when you do the LCAs do you need to extend axles?

I was considering going with the TC stock length LCAs but not sure if I need fenders and longer axles.
I won't be replacing yet but just trying to find an alternative to stock ones once mine take too much of a beating lol.

is there any benefit to the LCAs besides looking bad ass and obviously them being Chromoly so stronger?

If you’re wanting to build it for crawling around, why don’t you do the 63” Chevy leaf swap in the rear. That’s what I plan on doing. Pretty impressive amount of droop and not a lot of coin.

OP, I was under the impression that you already have a used dirt king 3.5 kit? If you havnt gotten it yet and crawling is more your thing then that King mid travel kit with TC UCAs and the add a leaf would likely suit you well. LT is still good for crawling as it can articulate much more than your stock geo arms will, but until you do the rear I wouldn't expect to be flying over stuff. Doesn't mean you cant do the rear later on if its strictly just a funds thing. Lastly, as previously stated, 3.5 will require glass which I don't know if you like that look over stock? I love the look, but Im all about LT in general.

Yep TC makes a nice LCA that has the option for bypasses. I hear once tuned right, it is a great ride for MT. That said, no need to get glass fenders just for a stock geo MT set up. You wont cycle enough to worry about blowing anything up unless you are going to 35s or bigger, which many get by with minimal cutting on 35s.

I've looked into LT but decided quickly it wasn't for me...$. But I do have the Dakar leafs with fox 2.0 extended travel 3-5" lift to get droop. Droop will do you more than upgrading the front for rock crawling. The leaf pack is pretty stiff unloaded and it causes the rear to just bounce around stiff on higher speed passes (60-70 mph on Galveston limited sand dunes). In my opinion and just so you don't just through away money you really need a SUA with high shock mounts set up for a 3.5+. The Chevy 63 swap was mentioned which could be a nice set up being on the cheaper size and having longer leafs and higher upper shock mount.

if I end up turning my truck into a weekend/camping/overland/trail only rig then yes.
But for daily driving needing to drive in downtown toronto, 33s are the limit for me lol.

One thing you want to be very careful with asking question here about long travel is most people think you'll need a full race truck and will be hitting 3' whoops.

From someone that ran a dirt king front (coming from an icon MT kit) and Dakar pack rear. You'll notice a nice difference just from that. Sure you'll get more performance if you do a full sua rear with monster springs. But don't think you'll have some busted truck that doesn't well off road by doing a LT front and MT rear. It will work better than a full MT kit.

Definitely depends on terrain too. Not everyone is going to be hitting 3' whoops at 60mph. If I could go back in time I'd do the rear a lot different.

Also. Dirt King > TC. :luvya:
