Looking to get new suspension and there are so many options . I have been looking into the icons and from a stage 3 to stage 7 is a huge price difference. Looking back on your purchase, would you change anything? I am looking to getting into mild over landing and camping. It will be my daily driver and just want to pick the best set up the first time around. How is the maintenance been on the kits for you? Anything you wish you knew before you got them?

    Are you set on Icon?

We have our Chase kit available that can be built in stages as well, performs better and cost less! ;)

We use King shocks with our set up!

Here are pictures of the set up!

PM or Email me directly and I will get you taken care of!

    Thanks

    Hmm. OK, I'll bite. :D

I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on getting a lift. I too am liking the Icons (Stage 2 w/ Dakar leafs), but Kings are Kings, right? I didn't think I had the budget for Kings, but maybe I'm wrong? Is there something entry level-ish that I may have missed?

I'm also new to lifts, and I've seen nothing but good things said about Bajakits. Can you help a guy with a sub $2K-ish budget?

You won't get front and rear kings for under 2k I can tell you that. You'll need new leafs or an add a leaf and new UCAs. You're looking at 3k minimum

I didn't think so. Thought I'd check though, never know if there's something out there that I may have missed. Thanks!

Bilstein 5100 Lift with rear leaf TSB plus 1" blocks. 1.5" wheel spacers...love the aggressive stance! Fog Light mod. Upcoming Projects: Topper and sleeping platform, BHLM, Mesh Grille, Hood Struts, rear dif breather tube, LED lights, power sliding rear window...and much more!
I too am in the same situation here. I have an '08 dcsb with currently the Bilsteins up front and back. I am at about 100K miles and the suspension is worn and have a blown shock in the rear. I love my truck and plan on keeping it for a long time and am going to put some money in it to upgrade the suspension all around. I use it as a daily driver but also to get me away to the mountains on the weekends to do some wheeling and camping. I have an ARE MX topper on the rear so that adds some constant weight to the back, but is not a considerable amount. Here are my thoughts of what I am going to do, not sure how it is going to work out but please chime in with any advice you have.

    Front Suspension:
    Rear Suspension:
    • All-Pro Expedition Leaf Springs + U-Bolt Flip Kit + Fox 679 Shocks ($845 at )
This package should give me about 3" of lift all around and cost about $2500 before taxes and shipping.

What do you guys think? Is this an okay set up? Any suggestions on doing anything differently? I would like to justify spending more and get the shocks with reservoirs but am not sure if it really is worth it.

Here is my current setup, just a few years old.

Not trying to jack the thread or throw focus away from your question, but do you mind if I ask how much you paid for the are mx topper? Picking one up Saturday. Trading for it and I've got 285 in my trade so basically km getting it for 285 and whatever it costs me in gas to drive an hour to do the swap.

Not a problem. So I spent a more than a year trying to find a used MX topper for what I wanted and never found anything for a cheap price. So I ended up buying one new with all my wants. I have the side flip open windows and the front glass (up against the cab) is a slider and fold down window so I am able to clean the glass without having to take the topper off. In total after taxes I paid about $1800 for it. It hurt a bit to pay full price but I absolutely love it! So whatever you are getting is in decent condition and you are happy with it $285 is a steal!

By my understand it just has a few surface scratches on the top only. It's white and plastidipped black. I have a good but cheap paint guy that I'm gonna get to color match it soon enough.

Love my Icons. I've had kings and fox and honestly I've liked all of them. What one I purchased for which 4x4 varied on my tastes and mood at the time lol. Different vehicles inspire me differently depending on size, weight and motor. I went with Fox on my FJ and Icon's on my First gen. Currently on my first gen I'm running TC UCA and ICON Stage 4 2.5's with OME Dakar spring packs in rear. Its very sporty on road and on crappy forest fire roads at speeds they feel very calm and not jarring but still firm on corners. Here is a link to album for pics if you want.

I'm not sure why it's doing that. When I looked it said it was open to public. I will try to figure it out.

The best decision I ever made was selling everything I owned with the word ICON on it.

Except my bump stops. Because they're just bumps

Is that so Jason? Why is that? What was it about ICON that did not meet your standards and what did you go to in replacement of them? Any additional info and insight would be greatly appreciated to help aid in my due diligence.

Sub-par machining and honing. Stupid two piece dished piston. Rattle your fillings out annoyingly bumpy slow to medium shaft speeds. Retarded hypodermic charge port (special tool needed to service). Have to run 250 psi to get even remotely decent ride quality. Look at them wrong or fart in their general direction and they leak. Several reports of broken top hats. They change their documentation to avoid doing warranty work. I could go on but getting ready to drive now.

Literally my suggestion would to be go with almost any other quality shock vendor. King, ADS, Fox, SAW to name a few.
