there's axis deer on some of the Hawaiian islands of all places. They have no natural predators so you can take a few of them per year. There are some "wild" cows you can hunt on the big Island too. I guess they were set free or escaped many years ago?

"The bag limit for the 2017 Lanai Axis deer season will be three (3) Axis deer (two (2) does and one (1) either sex) per hunter for the archery season, three (3) Axis deer (two (2) does and one (1) either sex) per hunter for the youth hunt, and three (3) Axis deer (two (2) does and one (1) either sex) per hunter for the muzzleloader and general rifle hunts."

Wow. The only rule here is you need to have a hunting license. That's it.

Pulled my trail cams down for the rifle hunts coming up over the next month (public land) and was not disappointed. I don’t have a tag so I will have to wait until December to chase this guy, hopefully he survives until then because I would sure love to slip an arrow in him! Gonna be a long wait but Ive got a Texas archery hunt this weekend/next week down on my cousin’s ranch, I’m restricted to management bucks only so hopefully I run into some freaky shit :D pics for your viewing pleasure:

I'm pretty sure he is this deer from last year. He was only on camera at night and was never seen during the day.

I'm headed out Wednesday to my home state of AZ for 10 days of chasing muleys.

The couple bucks we have taken out of the unit we will be hunting in. Passed on a good number to take these, but it's a pretty low success rate unit, so we've busted ass and have been fortunate.

    Nephew's 2015 buck.

    post-1213-0-94124800-1415259732_thumb.jpg

This year, looking to fill the freezer with some venison for the holidays and beyond. First decent buck that gets glassed up is getting tagged.

Looking forward to testing out the new Gen3 as well. First time it will see dirt is Wednesday night, and I plan on putting it through its paces for the 10 days to see how it does.

I might treat them with silcone spray just to be sure...I absolutely hate wet squishy socks and wet gloves also irritate me as well.
