I was at my local dealer (Golden, Colorado) today to have them evaluate my trade. They showed me the 2018 Tacoma info in their system. No pricing yet, but it had the options listed, TSS info, etc. They think I can order one this week. The only thing they were unsure of is whether the leather in the (PQ) Premium TRD Sport package includes orange accent stitching. I hope so, as I loved that look on my fabric equipped 2016 (black w/orange accent stitching). I know he TRD Pro has the red accent stitching in leather so hopefully I can get orange with the sport. We'll see. Shouldn't be long now! :)

I did the same on Friday, but they went ahead and entered my order on a pro. Said they'd provide me with pricing as soon as they could and that If I wasn't happy at that pt. they'd cancel my order. This way it's in there to be pulled. In that they are personal friends ive known for years and bought and serviced several vehicles with, im not really concerned. He expects mid 40s. No changes to pros except the addition of tss and color changes already discussed in several threads. I went with midnight black.

I don't recall seeing Midnight Black offered on the pro. Doesn't mean I'm right, but I thought the pro colors for this year were white, red, and blue.

You guys really think Toyota will spend more money to change up all the lights to LED?
They finally JUST put an LED 3rd brake light in, and they can't even get that right!(aka leaking recall)
These trucks sell themselves and the end consumer wouldn't know the difference if it had LED, HID, or even halogen lights.

Toyota's new moto is: Do the bare minimum, make a ton of them and Increase market share.

Midnight black, cavalry blue, and white are the three pro choices for 2018

TW members we're hoping for the lights and thought it may happen. We know it won't this year because we have see the '18 owner's manual. Maybe for the '19. As far as Toyota spending more money to go to LED, they do it all the time. The gen 2 went to led and the gen 2 had more market share then the gen 3. The 4Runner and Rav4 also had the switch to rear led tails.

And then went back to standard halogen again for the Gen 3...
it's a cost cutting measure. I have no doubts it will eventually be LED. It has to happen. But the 3rd year of a new model release... idk about that. Here's to wishfull hoping

I vote meso contacts Toyota and shows them his designs for led everything and he get a nice check as a thanks for not having to do the r&d themselves

So a design change is looked at as only cost cutting measure? If Toyota was just wanting to cut costs why did they put led lights in the gen 2? The gen 2 was already the best selling mid size truck. They could have left well enough alone and save a ton of cash doing all the R&D and SAE approval on a new set of tail lights.

    I guess I'm just a pragmatic thinker.

Sweet. That black will look amazing on the Pro. I’m not a huge fan of the black fenders, but on midnight black that’ll basically look body colored. They told me they’d call me this week and place my order. I’d love to order a Pro, but I wanted the moonroof & JBL over the suspension upgrades. But Toyota are silly; I’d gladly give them more of my money if they’d let me order a TRD Pro with those options! :)

I thought red was still going to be a pro color option?

Thanks!! Didn't care on moon roof, but understand that it sucks it's not an option on a pro. Adding oem amp and speaker system as i feel it is better than the jbl system and is plug and play and easily installed. I wanted the looks and uniqueness of the limited production of the pro and in my area the pro keeps its resale value incredibly well should I decide to ever part with it .. far better than the other series. Had a 2016 trd off road last time, you will like your new truck, but i just wanted to step up to a pro this time.

Wow. I couldn’t agree more with this. I like the sound of OEM speakers better than the JBL and I’m very picky with sound. However, I know it’s a matter of personal preference. Cheers.

Waiting for a white TRD PRO. And quite honestly don’t care if it’s 17 or 18. Coming from a ‘17 VW golf R.

Maybe someone with more knowledge can answer this ....
I have a 2018 pro coming in with my name on it ...and my sales rep says I can’t get the sunroof !
    Is he correct ....?
I would assume. He knows what he what his talking about ...
Seeing that he works for the Toyota ,and has been there for ever ..lol
I would really love to get a sunroof ,for those days when we travel thru the woods or coast and the weather permitting .

I am hoping to buy an ‘18 model about this time next year. It will be my first Toyota, and my first 4x4. I’ve owned 5 trucks over the past 28 years (3 Fords & 2 Chevy’s), but they have all been 2WD. I don’t really need a full-size truck any longer, so am leaning towards the Tacoma.

I really like the Cement color, and am happy that it will be coming to the slightly more affordable non-pro models. My main question right now is regarding the Sport vs Off-Road. Am I correct in my understanding that the Off-Road cannot be had without the moon roof? This was the trim level I was going to go with, but do not want this option. Will I be forced to go with the Sport model in order to still get the Cement color sans Moon Roof?

*Edit...Funny, I just noticed the post above me. He wants sun/moon roof, and I don’t. First world problems. To each his own, right?

The is a '17 Pro at our local dealer in white. It's one of three in all of Canada. With the Canadian dollar lower than the US dollar by around 25% this could be a steal for an Americian.

both trd sport and offroad have a moon roof in the premium&technology package. if you don't get that package, no moonroof. the base model of both of these trim levels are moonroof-less.
