    So lots of reporting that Zak Brown says Alonso's contract renewal is long term , and it allows him to race in other series like Le Mans when it doesn't interfere with the F1 season but if you read between the lines of Alonso's comments it likely has a performance break clause at end of 2018 season if McLaren has not reached the podium

    The racing surface does look wavy. It also looks like they ground down a bunch of sections to reduce the undulations. I sense a resurfacing...

    Every other year, NBC has sent their commentator team to the race in person. This year they didn't. I guess they already knew they weren't getting the contract.
