I wish r/bagtag was more active. I've given away 3 of them to friend's to try to get it going but still no challenges locally

We went to Birds Nest northwest of town this morning. Some group playing an ace race on a modified setup acted like they rented the park out for the event. First time in a while I've not enjoyed myself playing a round

oh yeah, it was the labor day ace race, i was a little bummed i missed playing in that.
I'm pretty sure the event was pdga sanctioned and John Bird OK'd/hosted it.

what was the setup like? were they letting other groups play at all?
love me some birds nest, i play there more than anywhere else.

You can't do an ace race as apdga scored event. Not everyone putts out the hole. You score based on acing or hitting metal from the drive. I'm sure John Bird OK'd the event. He was not there as far as I saw. They used maybe 10 baskets total with maybe 12 different tees than normal. They let us play through but some folks were vocal in their groups of 8-10 playing the ace race saying we should not be there

We got there as they finished round 1 they took a 30 minute break then got back after it for round 2. I couldn't believe the card sizes

This year will be my second year hosting an ace race and in our case i run it for the upstate disc golf club, which the club gets permission from the city of greenville to use the course for an event. Technically in our case we can close the course to non-participants but we dont.

i caught up with Fehringer tags last night on my 2nd round there. 3 cards of 6-10 :annoyed:

first time playing fehringer, 1st round tore me up but threw even on the 2nd time through. i like the course, not as much as Birds or badlands but it's nice, i can see it growing on me

That's a long course I'm usually exhausted by the end of a round

buddy and i weren't quite satisfied after one, thought we'd at least get through 10-12 before we lost sunlight. ended up being perfect, was just barely too dark to play when we were driving 18.

I got a couple rounds in last week at George Ward Park in Birmingham. It was nice to play in the woods a bit instead of the terrain on the front range
