Urgent! Buying a used 2017 PRO

hi all - I'm new here and I'm from California and I purchased a used 2017 Tacoma cement Pro from Waldorf Toyota in Waldorf, Maryland.

It has a sunroof and someone said it's impossible. Does anyone have a sunroof with theirs? They took down the sale ad which had all the pictures but I have some on my phone and if u look real closely you can see it.

Car is supposed to be shipped tomorrow and I think until car is off the lot, I can still back out? Can anybody else confirm that? Papers have been signed. I can upload more photos tomorrow but I'm getting a little worried that it's not a pro but the window sticker says it too.

 

Maybe it’s a Canadian edition !

 

Someone could have ordered it with one added and backed out?

 

The one I am buying doesn’t show a sunroof .
Although mines a 2018.
....maybe someone with more knowledge can chime in !

 

I think its a PRO...Badges, Grill, Rigid Lights, Color, Wheels, Black Scoop Hood, Black Headlights. If its not a PRO someone whent to a lot of trouble and money to make it look like one. YES, PRO can have a sunroof. Not sure who told you it can't but they are wrong. Congrats on your new truck.

 

My dealer said it doesn’t usually come with a sunroof..
Maybe I can wait for the next one by Ordering it with a sunroof ...
But I don’t think I can wait for 5 months ...lol

 

Man U guys are awesome! Appreciate it very much but from reading other forums, seems like everyone is saying pro doesn't have a sunroof that's why people are buying a trd sport or OR with technology package which comes with a sunroof then buy parts to mimic the Pro.

Also if it's indeed a Canadian model is that bad? I didn't know u can drive a Canadian model here in the states . Cali has strict smog emission standards so I had them check this label which suggests a US car. Thanks Again!!

 

Google the VIN Toyota vin decoder, carfax, vehiclehistory.com, etc. get vin number & call a local Toyota dealership.

Great looking color ...I would have gone with the cement if they still offered ...
Seeeing that I wanted all the new safety features that the 2018 comes with ..and that they don t offer it anymore .
I had to reluctantly pick another color...

 

Car fax just says sr5 but that's a brilliant idea. I'll call another Toyota dealership tomorrow to see if they can verify the vin. Car I'm buying is from a Toyota dealership so I initially felt very safe and the car salesman is extremely cool but after another pro owner questioned the authencity Bc of the sunroof, It got me nervous and hence this thread .

I've seen a couple people on here have their pro vins look up in the system as sr5. Maybe they start their lives at the factory as sr5's before getting all the pro bits added.

It is true that you can't get the moonroof on the pro from the factory. But you also can't get cement on any other trim. My guess is the truck got an aftermarket sunroof

 

An aftermarket sunroof sounds like complications in the future lol.

Fred - wow that seems like a lot of work to do to add a sunroof. Gonna call the dealership tomorrow. I saw the sunroof but never asked them to open and close it. If it's a manual then for sure it's aftermarket but I'm pretty sure it's auto. And thanks for ur help. Appreciate very very much

 

So my salesman was correct ....
You cannot get a pro with a sunroof from the factory..
How about that .
A salesman that knows his stuff....that’s a change !

Hopefully someone here has a pro with a sunroof who can comment. If it's not possible then my truck is

1. Not a PRO which is crazy Bc of the color and interior and exterior looks like a pro and the previous owner could have fixed it all up to look like a pro including painting the car which is unlikely or

2. An after market sunroof was put on....

One of the reasons why I'm willing to go through the hassle of buying a car 2k miles plus was because the rarity of the moonroof plus there's no mark up in Maryland for a used taco pro.

 

How much are you paying out of curiosity?
