The heat reflective tape is a great idea! May pick some of that up when I stop by the hardware store tonight.

    Please do!

    True!

This would have been my truck in a few more minutes.

Is there a patch for that?

It definitely was! Totally caused by my aftermarket additions. But it still goes to show that having a fire extinguisher is a good idea, no matter what you've done to your truck!

I didn't see this until I asked the same question! Might have to be my first patch!

Scary but glad things "worked out" in the long run with minimal damage.

Yes indeed! I got off easy. Just have to buy a new fire extinguisher (or two!), new wiring for the amp, and maybe some heat reflective tape. Oh and pay for the pay'n'spray this evening.

Apparently this is a common thought. Maybe there should be a patch for this!

I would! Current thinking is another small one for the cab, and a larger one in the bed.

Does that work well outdoors? I know it's popular in server rooms where they can displace the oxygen with Halon. But what about outside?

One of the quotes from that thread. Seems like a reputable resource.

Another option for front is to run the wires inside the frame like I did and come out these holes. Bend a clothes hanger and tape wire to it to pull it through. Kinda fun lol

Reason because it can be a pain in the rear to get it through the hole? Lol
