To touch on the eBay sale a bit further... the promo is good for $100.00 off instantly on orders $400.00+ (which you found) when paying with PayPal through the Discount Tire Direct eBay store. The limit is one(1) transaction per user ID. I'll also add that this is a co-funded promotion between eBay and DTD and is not valid in-store.

When it comes to inventory, I'm not sure why the manager told you that the tires DTD offer on promo are 3+ years old, that is simply not the case. DTD's inventory comes direct from the manufacturer, in most instances, and with the high turnover of inventory, you can be confident that the tires DTD sells are fresh. I'll also point out that DTD (nor the local stores) will sell a tire that is older than 4 years of age.

Will you please shoot us a PM with the store you recently made visit to so that we can clear up any inventory misconception with this location?

I haven't heard of quality or balancing issues with any of the A/T3W tires. There was what appeared to be an isolated occurrence where some tires were wearing quicker than expected, but as mentioned this appears to be an isolated issue. I'm sure you'll be pleased with your new rubber!

If I go into my local discount tire and ask if they will match the ebay store price with the $100 off, what are the chances they will? Or would I be better off just buying them online and having them shipped to my house and then finding somewhere to install them?

I had luck getting a matching price, you will need to throw the “tax” word out there. eBay you don’t pay taxes, store you will, but they may lower tires enough to rake care of taxes! In past deal has only went 7 days or so, it started last Monday! You might should just do eBay Incase it shuts off!

Yes they install cheap, $16 a tire, you can also buy certificates for tires when you take them in! Definitely go to them!

As mentioned, your local DT store will install the tires for $16.00 per assembly (plus states taxes, fee's and TPMS rebuild kits - if applicable)

As for the 265/65R-17 sizing, it's a popular option for those looking to stay near the O.E. tire rolling diameter. Many members here, though, prefer larger diameter tires - it adds to the overall look to the vehicle and also provides some ground clearance. I hope that answers your question.
