Think I'll order one now and hope that it is here in time so we can have another to use. Pretty sure Drew has one too.

Have always wanted to check out the keystones. How was it? Hear there is some good fishing around there too.

What was the brand? I just ordered one last night.
    :woot:
May have to bring some of that Saturday.

There are definitely some deep pools in the river there. Saw some fish come up. The arches are pretty cool, got to see an Amtrak train go over the first arch near the beginning of the trail.

I'll have to check which swr meter I bought. It was one of the cheap Amazon ones.

3 radio shops today and none of them deal with CBs or have the ability to test them. No clue why I'm failing on RF output

I'll have to give them a call and see. Thanks

I went out messed with some settings and now the RF passes (but it's weak at about 3) but now the antenna is failing at about 3 as well. Picked up a convo on the turnpike from the house though so about 5-6 miles away but tried a mic check and didn't get a response

    yep..
Radioreference.com forums are great for troubleshooting things as well. Have you tried a continuity test between the end of the coax that enters the radio (ground & signal) and where it connects to the antenna (ground & signal)? If that checks out, the cable is fine (also check continuity between the ground/shield and the signal wire, there should be no reading at all).

Also try a cont test on the antenna and mount. Here's an image I found. Hope it helps!!

    This!
For shits an giggles, take the spring off and try it with only the antenna. I had one that was tough to match and that spring messed up the SWR in a big way.

Thanks. I'll try and check this tomorrow after work

Thought you had to have a spring with firestik antennas?

I'm getting about 3ish watts for output now. Same wattage for the antenna match test now after messing with it. not sure if that's enough to transmit good enough. We'll see. This things pissing me off

Ya everything was passing on the diag but when I was on the road this morning I tried transmitting to a couple convos but no response. And I can’t hear anything when I have the talkback all the way up so I don’t think I’m transmitting still
