It's easy, but 1st knock the skin off a couple knuckles and say a few cuss words. That way you look like a real mechanic. Then take the screw out, pull up-twist-wiggle and the top will come off.

So I just confirmed with @OVTune that there new handheld tuner can not only tune your truck, but also turn off the code for the air pump. This means you could turn off the cel permanently and just run block off plates. So no more cel or failing pump, and more power with a tune. Win win!!

It’s fine for the 2012 guys cause they don’t have the cover that goes on the pump for cosmetic reasons. Anyone 2013 and up who wants to retain the cover for the OEM look however should not go with that particular KN.

^^ looks like you could push that filter in some more so it's not exposed under the cover.

I could push it all the way in,but I am worried about it not getting enough air flow,so what do you think.

Does anyone know of any other alternative filter for this mod? Twice I have tried to order this from Amazon and I keep having "shipping" problems.

I did this mod a while back. I feel like my secondary air pump now runs longer at startup. Has anyone else seen this? I was thinking that maybe a similar filter that allowed more airflow would improve this. What are your thoughts?

I have a 2014 four cylinder. It has the cap over the pump assembly. I can find one "clip" near the front of the cap. I have pulled the clip out enough to clear whatever it hooks on to. I still cannot get the cap off. It will move some back and forth but I can't get it off. I want to save it and put it back on. What am I missing? I am sure it is something simple but I sure can't see it.
